    Hii all,

    Anyone using Gleim here for auditing??

    I am comfortable with most of the MCQ’s in gleim but some of the mcq’s in subunit 16 Reports and Opinion especially the ones with Disclaimer of opinion under PCAOB std, I mean I have solved all becker mcq and Wiley MCQ but not come across such questions on disclaimer of opinion and its really confusing me.

    any one thought the same? should I give them importance or just not try to think more of them

    Thanks

    AUD- 73 Becker,72-->Becker+Wiley,69-->Added ninja notes,89 --> Added Gleim review
    BEC- 84 Becker plus Wiley Test bank

    I am Done !!!!

    I study with Gleim, and some of his stuff is far-out, not likely to see the exam light of day, but he thinks you should know just to prepare. I thank God for this sometimes because I wonder how I got the answer right. It is because Gleim teaches theory above the exam level.

    He's coming from an academic point of view (PhD) and thinks training students means giving them more than will be on the test.

    And he says so sometimes: this is not necessary to know it if you don't get it. But trying to understand it is worthwhile and perhaps the main point.

    But the best thing is to check the CPA test outline requirements (from AICPA) to see if that subject matter is on there. It likely will be there, if not Gleim thinks that you need this information to tackle a different area.

    @ M.O.D. – I am using Gleim right now myself although not for Aud. You are right that there is way more stuff and some of them probably won't see the light of day. However, before Gleim, I was using only Wiley's books but it was like reading a dictionary and it only helped me so much on the exam. I don't know if it was you or another poster on here but that poster said that it is better to be overprepared than underprepared for he exam.

    I agree 100% to it to be be overprepared atleast for AUD as I am not able to win this war πŸ˜›

    I just got most of the questions in this area wrong and made myself to doubt on my preperation as I am few days away from the test and it will be my 4th attempt so I thought wise to ask here as many of us use a combination of review courses.Will give it a read wont sweat much on it.

    Audit is so overwhelming it made me miss Law..I wish I could know audit more since i lack the work ex in industry though I have aware of some stuff that works in a small business like ordering and receiving and paying by cash/cheque so i use it in internal control and substantive procedures but with limited knowledge, with various type of report I try to understand it by reading and reading and understand it. professional respo also soo subjective I mean with all those independence questions I am still not pro at it.

    I think my nervous mind is making me type all this πŸ™

    @jeff i dint understand your comment :S

    I'm really unsure about Gleim, for me, it is good to be prepared but not overprepared, because then you waste your time in other section.

    The only thing I see positive of Gleim is the $$$ which is more affordable but, as we say, the “cheap things turn expensive with the time”.

    My financial situation right now is improving so I choose to wait few weeks and order for Roger again (even though I wil be having only 2 months to prepare for Audit.

    Good luck everyone

    Gleim is a good review. It is cheaper because it doesn't have videos. Videos in my opinion are very overrated. I learn by reading and doing which is what gleim is good for. I'm doing FAR now and there are around 2500 MCQs which is a lot. I think wiley has only around 1100 for far. I've even heard the MCQs are harder than wiley and the test.

    FAR 62, 66, 78
    AUD 66, 55, 74, 72
    BEC 79

    I use Gleim, and agree with Ajaz. If you don't need videos to learn, it is a very good review program. Yes it covers everything, but I have never been suprised by questions or sims on exam day. I switched from CPAExcel to Gleim, and I not only saved money, but I started passing.

    REG - 64, 72, 81!
    FAR - 77
    AUD - 79
    BEC - 72, 79! And Done!
