How many FAR Gleim MCQs did you study per unit?

Gleim CPA Review has approximately 3000 MCQs in FAR, and it’s taking me so long to get through each one. I’ve been working every single one for the last 10 units. But it’s taking too long. Especially because I need to repeat it just to really get it.

So my question is for those who used GLEIM MCQs… and passed. Did you keep it to maybe 100 MCQs per unit? There’s 20 units. 2000 MCQs is faster than 3000. I’m running out of study time. Did you repeat the same 100 per unit at least once?

    Thank you for your responses!

My questions and scores are below.
2000 is still a pretty strong showing.
I'd recommend trying to do 20-50, and see how well you score.
No point in wasting time doing a bunch of questions you already know the answer to… but… this sampling method might not show all the gaps in your knowledge, and you'll be missing out on a lot of learning opportunities.

I would try to do at least 2000 MCQs.
Some sections of FAR, the MCQs are absolutely brutal and 10 might take you 30 minutes or more.
A far cry from the speed you need to hit to finish the exams on time of course, but not all of the questions on the exams will be brutal.

I used to do 10 question mini quizzes in study mode, so you can instantly see the answer, and why you were right or wrong. Helps to cut down on the review time needed after you finished a question set, as you would not need to reread the question to figure out what they were asking, to then figure out what you did wrong.

Thank you Recked for your quick and detailed response. It was very helpful.

I will aim for 2400 MCQs total.

I really loved the analytics in Gleim's test bank.
Not only is there 20 chapters, but each chapter is further broken down into subunits.
If I was performing poorly in any given chapter, I liked to look at the percentage breakdown for the subunits to really narrow in on the topics and concepts that I was struggling with, and then review that subunit again, and really hammer on those MCQs until it made sense to me.

    Good luck!!

I totally agree. I love how Gleim breaks it into subunits. And thank you !
