Hi friends,

Since last few days I started doing Gleim exam Prepration software for Regulation.

While going through the software I have come across quite a few number of questions marked as Publisher adapted. I noticed that these particuler questions are some how ether so detailed and complicated theoretical questions or totally from different planet!!

From your experience and without violating any of AICPA rules, do you guys believe this sort of detailed problems are usual questions in Reg exam !! Am really getting so frustrated :((

I tried Gleim for REG as it was the first section I took. I found the questions to be much more difficult than the exam and found the software a waste of time for me. I think one should know how to do the calculations but I believe you need to be solid on the theories for all sections of the exam.

@mmcgrad1, thnx for your reply. I did around 400+ random MCQs of Gleim and I was scoring like in lower 70s. This made me feel so worried as my exam is on 11/27 !

Hope things go well on the exam day. This is my last section and hopfully I will get back to my normal life with the new year:)

Are you using any other review materials? If so, then how were those scores?

I personally used Gleim on REG for about 3 hours and thought the questions were hard and complicated. I did not feel they accurately portrayed the exam questions. I think the questions in my review course were much more reflective of the actual exam difficulty. I gauged my scores based on my review course scores and the biggest point difference I ever had was 6 points.

Yes, I use Roger as a main review course which comes with Wiley test bank. I just started doing those questions which look more doable as compared to Gleim. Will try to cover as much as possible from the test bank including the simulations though I am running out of time!!

I know you're asking about REG, but my experience with Gleim software for FAR was just as you described.

I found the questions to be unnecessarily difficult. I felt very confident about the FAR material. However, I started doing the Gleim MCQ's the last week before my exam and they did nothing but shatter my confidence. It was a MIRACLE if I could get 80% correct on any given practice test of 20 questions. I also reviewed the AICPA release questions and didn't see any that were as difficult as the Gleim questions.

I ended up purchasing the Wiley Test Bank and found the questions to be more appropriate. I scored a 90 on the exam.

Gleim questions may be fine for some people. There's nothing wrong with being overprepared, but for me, I felt like they were doing more harm (mentally) than good.

As you've correctly said, these over complicated questions just simply killed my confidence 🙁

I stopped doing these questions and rather started doing simulations using Wiley.

Hopefully that will help to prepare me for the actual Sims on the exam day.

Gleim mcq are a confidence killer but any practice is good practice. The sims are good and more representive of what is tested

Focus more on the AICPA adapted questions rather than publisher adapted. I haven't taken REG but that has been my strategy for the previous 3 exams. I have not supplemented Gleim with any other review material.

I spent my full day practicing Sims with Wiley test bank. Some of them were quite doable while some other were just too long to complete in 15 mins !! Don't know how am gonna manage my time if I get such long Sims in the exam?!!
Anyways, time is running out and I must be 100% ready for the big day =)

Any last minute advice from any one ?
