    Hi guys,

I am debating between buying Gleim Software MCQ for REG or NINJA MCQ for REG. However, I wanted to ask you guys an important question. I was studying REG with a friend and he kept telling me when he was doing his NINJA MCQ (specifically the ethic questions in his NINJA MCQ software), he felt he was studying again for the Auditing section of the CPA Exam. In other words, he had told me that in his NINJA MCQ for REG software, there were a lot of AUD questions in the software. He told me that the questions in NINJA MCQ were exactly like the ones he did when he was studying for the AUD exam.

So, my question is, why does NINJA MCQ include AUD questions in the ethics portion of the software of the NINJA MCQ when we know we will not see AUD ethic questions on the REG exam? I want to buy NINJA MCQ, but, I don’t want to waste my time doing AUD questions when I know the Ethics portion of the REG exam will NOT include AUD questions in there. I don’t seem to understand that. I just want to be more efficient with my time (that’s all). I am worried that a lot of the other sections in the NINJA MCQ for REG will have a lot of “filler” questions in which I will not see on Exam day. Am I better off to just go with the Gleim Software MCQ or even Wiley Test bank for that matter?

    Please help!

I have not used Gleim's products at all, but buy NINJA MCQs.

You never know what will show up on exam day; you may get a lot of ethics questions on REG, which is highly likely given that ethics makes up 15-19% of the REG exam. How bummed will you be on exam day if you realize you forgot some of the ethics stuff you studied in AUD?

There are small overlap of topics on all exams. Therefore you'll find that on all review products. Not just on NINJA products.

For example: Roger discusses stuff that is mostly tested on REG but you need to understand how they affect AUD so yes he spends time discussing them.

Same with FAR and AUD; AUD is basically auditing the stuff you learned in FAR, so yes there is overlap.

Another example I can think of off the top of my head is that IT and COSO are tested in both BEC & AUD.

Another thing to consider is that these review programs don't know what exam you have already taken or passed (as there isn't a set schedule of which exam to take first. Most students take the exams in different order).

The review programs & test banks only know that certain topics are tested on each exam.So of course they would discuss / test those topics.

The great thing with NINJA MCQs is the adaptive learning; which as far as I know, no other test bank has that. If the NINJA system feels you have a firm grasp on ethics, it'll focus in on the topics you need help on. If you don't have a firm grasp, then it'll show a lot of ethics questions.

FYI: my goal is to go through every NINJA REG MCQ at least once, so I will override the adaptive learning (by selecting ‘new questions only'). I feel like I've memorized all of the NINJA REG SIMS, so am considering buying the Gleim SIMS wizard thing but that doesn't change my goal of getting through all of the NINJA REG MCQs.

    R - 33, 58, 73, 69, 81!
    F - 47, 78! 🙂
After 3 long years, I'm finally DONE!
I could not have done it without NINJA MCQs.

Gleim is a very good review course. I've used Ninja also and it is a good review course. The reason I haven't passed yet is because of me not the review courses. Whatever you choose if you study hard and put in the time you'll be good.

    FAR 62, 66, 78
    AUD 66, 55, 74, 72
    BEC 79
    REG

I never had time or desire to analyze the content of MCQs. I just assumed that it was created to help me pass the exam. Ninja MCQ ( along with Ninja Audio)is the reason I passed FAR and REG the first try.

    BEC 05/12/14 77
    REG 08/25/14 82
    FAR 11/25/14 80
    AUD 02/25/15 72, 05/15/15 98! DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is overlap between AUD and REG in the ethics area, no doubt.

To get the features that NINJA MCQ offers for $47 (MCQ/Sims/Practice exams), you have to spend $300 with Gleim.

    Hopefully that is helpful.

The Gleim REG book and MCQ is very good. NINJA MCQ is also a really fine product. Just pick one and use it. I used both. Only bought Gleim because NINJA MCQ was going thru a phase where the server couldn't handle all the users and it was too slow. Jeff probably corrected that by now so I'd say it's a toss up.

    BEC - 78
    AUD - 75
    REG - 74, 79
    FAR - 75

You have to buy a ticket to win the raffle.

Yes – we had a growing phase for sure…new server has been rocking, however and has been holding up from the abuse very well.

@ Jeff: Is the ethics portion of NINJA REG MCQ the only area where we have AUD questions in there? Or is there any other sections in NINJA MCQ where there is overlap or questions from other CPA exam sections in there? Again, I just want to be efficient Jeff, that's all. And I just want to do questions that I am more likely to see on exam day.

I believe so…if you're concerned about efficiency, you should also ask the other publishers you're considering if they use CMA, EA, CIA, etc. questions in their CPA materials – which can be beyond the scope of the CPA Exam.

Anyone else have experience using Gleim Simulation Wizard for REG?
