    Hi,

I am confused whether to get a wiley software or Gleim software for working out MCQ’s and Simulations. Since i am having my Wiley book i thought of getting Gleim Test prep software. My questions is that the Gleim test prep contains MCQ’s as well as simulations or only the MCQ’s? Because i came across Gleim Simulation Wizard. Do i have to get both or only the test prep software. Kindly advice me on the same as i am planning to take the exams in AUG.

Gleim simulation wizard has only simulations and test prep software has only MCQs.

Wiley has both MCQ and SIMS. There is a little overlap between the book and the test bank, but it is minimal. Almost all the questions are different from those in the text.

@kb24—I still shake my head in disbelief when I see that you knocked out all four exams in 6 weeks. Kudos! That being said I trust your opinion obviously—what would you say was a better preparation for the REG multiple choice—Becker or Wiley? I worked through hundreds and hundreds of Becker multiple choice my first go, was scoring in the 80s on them towards the end. I still plan to use them but I will supplement with Wiley. From what I remember you used Becker and Wiley, just trying to determine what kind of mix I want to use when I study? Thinking of going more Wiley heavy this time around just because they are new to me, but if Becker is a better preparation for the exam maybe my best bet is to still put more emphasis on Becker and mix Wiley in there when time permits. Appreciate your advice on this one, thanks!

I didn't have all the Becker material, but I had a copy of the Becker passmaster questions. However, it was with the questions and answers on the same page so I mostly used it as a review tool. However, I found the passmaster questions to be very helpful with REG. What I liked was that they had included a lot of very old exam questions from the paper days. You'd basically be given the same scenario over and over with one or two details changed which really helped with concepts such as like-kind exchanges. What I had to keep reminding myself with both, though, was that neither had been updated to reflect the tax legislation that was passed at the end of 2010. I was studying in late April so I don't know if that's still the case.

Thanks for the kind words. Studying for the exam was my full time job with lots of overtime. This forum was how I took my breaks. I've had some family matters to deal with recently, but now I'm trying to bring that same focus to finding a job.
