Has anyone ever tried the set of 40 practice MCQs offered on the Gleim website?

I just took a stab at it and scored 65%. It would’ve been 70% if I took my time to RTFQ.

My only concern is with the other questions I got wrong. Some of the questions in ethics/professional responsibilities and business law left me puzzled.

In any case, for Gleim users and other users who may be familiar with the material, would you say that the actual exam isn’t as difficult as the REG test bank from Gleim?

EDIT: To anyone using Gleim as their primary review program, Kudos^3 to you guys. Just these one set of questions alone make me want to flip the table and punch something.

    Thanks.

REG of all sections is DEFINITELY harder with Gleim than the actual exam. I studied for REG for six months partially because I was burnt out and took my time a little bit, but also because it just took me FOREVER to get through all the material. It was ridiculously hard at times.

FAR and BEC were also that way, but not as much as REG. AUD hasn't been bad to study for at all so I'm hoping that translates over to my exam on Friday!

Overall, Gleim will definitely (over) prepare you for just about anything you will see on the exam. You just have to not let it totally drain your confidence in the process. Someone recently posted a thread about ditching Gleim for REG for that very same reason.

Noted. I just saw the other post and agree with the consensus as to why Gleim may work for some but not others.

At this point, I'm hoping that Roger is enough to get me through most of the material that I'll see come exam day.

is it me you're looking for?

Yes, it's my thread! I've totally gone rogue and am borrowing an old Becker book, pairing it with Ninja MCQ's, and rewatching Gleim videos. I loved Gleim for AUD and BEC. And though I don't have FAR's score, I liked it, too. BUT Gleim's REG sucked the life force right out of my body.

I would rage quit if I had to go through BEC with Gleim. It was foreign enough to me as it is with Roger CPA review. Maybe I'm just that dense. Would you say that using Becker instead of Gleim for REG has been smoother so far?

    Rage quit, haha

So far, it seems better. And the Ninja MCQ's seem WAY more in line with the actual exam. Gleim really overdid the minutia on REG, and as such, I spent way too much time on stuff that was just silly. If there's things that I still don't get with Gleim, I just refer to the Becker book. Mind you, it's a little dated so I'm sure there's some landmines in there, but I think for major concepts that don't change, it seems better.

I remember struggling with BEC, but thankfully for me I am a whiz at IT stuff and so I found those chapters to be forgiving which might have given me rose-colored glasses…

So I'm studying for REG, my first section, with Gleim. It seemed like a good option…reasonably priced and it SEEMED like a good idea to buy the program that would over-prepare me. Better than being under prepared, right!?

Ugh, the truth is that Gleim is where confidence goes to die.

That being said, reading posts like these is saving my life. I'm just praying that Gleim's questions are harder than the actual test. And I know that they MUST be crazy on the details because there is no way the actual test could require people to memorize all of that, right!?

I'm praying that this torture has been worth it! 9/8 REG, baby!
