AnonymousInactiveGleim Question –
My Goal is to get them all done, and I have the time before the test, but man is it a lot. Only half way through. Anyone else tackle this beast?

TncincyParticipantBless your heart….are you writing notes as you answer questions? if so, it will take a while, but keep pushing you'll get it done. Good luck on the test.
It begins with a 75

AnonymousInactiveYes, but it slows me down and so I am making some deals with the devil to get through the 100 a day (300 on weekends). Trying to pick the less likely to be tested topics in the evening and not spending as much time on those.

Andyred04ParticipantI did about 4500 total and got an 87. If you aren't willing to put in the time and effort, how bad do you really want to be a CPA?
FAR: 80 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)
REG: 87 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)

mtaylo24ParticipantYeah, i been through bank a few times and it does take forever. I would recommend to do a chapter of questions in the book first, since they establish a foundation (maybe 2x), then jump back into the online tb immediately after…there is only 30 questions per chapter in the book.
AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)

AnonymousInactive@MTaylor – Yeah you know someone mentioned that (maybe it was you) and a lightbulb went on, the one's in the book are probably the most important. Unfortunately I think if I leave my giant test prep practice I don't think I can start where I left off.
@Andy – 4,700! I'll probably get to that after I go through the questions I have marked/wrong. Right now I'm feeling a bit toasty.

AnonymousInactiveI've only tried NINJA's MCQ's so can't speak to the other material. So far I've used it as a supplement to my GLEIM test bank – I like the adaptive learning graphs.
I have to say I'm really happy with the Gleim primarily for the test bank. It's very customizable, the questions are harder than Wiley (same with NINJA) with very helpful explanations for right and wrong answers.
They also have a nice set up for the online learning with T/F, outlines, power points and audio. You can print everything out which is nice. There's nothing particularly wrong with the audio or the lectures, like a lot of people I just don't have the tme to use them that much.
Hope that helps. 🙂

mtaylo24ParticipantI hear you@cpa2021.. Just think of it as a pretest before you dive back into the monstrous online tb…. They even give you plenty of space to write out the calcs…

IbParticipant@CPA2021. So you are using both Ninja and Gleim. How different are SIMS? Is the search function for research SIMS better in Gleim? I am using BECKER and considering supplementing it with NINJA or GLEIM. Ninja is far cheaper than Gleim mega test bank. I have heard that Gleim simulations are better. Do you agree?

AnonymousInactiveI haven't delved into my SIM practice much with GLEIM for REG. As far as the search function, I've actually been using Cornell Law's Legal Information Institute research website. Go under the “GEt the Law” tab and choose US Code, then go down to Title 26. If you practice trying to find the topics in your MCQ's you'll get a good handle on where to look for things.
I didn't realize you had Becker and Gleim is expensive so you'd probably be fine with the NINJA $47 MCQ's.
I realize why most review courses don't sell piece-meal, but the Chinese menu approach really has it's advantages when it comes to CPA prep courses.

IbParticipantJune 4, 2016 at 11:00 pm #779998
AnonymousInactiveIt's hard to say – I don't plan hours so much as 100MCQ/day during the week MCQ and 150MCQ on weekends, the rest of the day on weekends I try to spend time actually learning things. And I do this until I answer every question in Gleim's test bank. Then it's rinse-repeat with the one's I got wrong.
Now, that said, it's Saturday and I haven't done one question since about 4PM – I watched a lecture, ate dinner, played around in the yard. That's reality. But now I'll force myself to sit here until I get to the 150.
That's probably too long an answer – sorry!

IbParticipant@Vanessachy How you prepared for REG? Did you used Gleim or supplemented Ninja with BECKER?. Your score increased by 26 point, which is a giant leap. How did you prepared for REG sims? Did you practiced Ninja SIMS or Gleim?
Do you think knowing the structure of IRC code can help in Simulations? I will appreciate your feedback. Thanks!FAR 79
