Gleim CPA online scoring

Hi – I am new here and new to the study of accounting. I took two intro to accounting classes in undergrad and a lot of tax law classes in law school. In my state, that is enough to be eligible to sit for the exam.

I did take an auditing class, and for that reason I am sitting for the auditing portion first. I bought Gleim and have been following the online study program, and nothing else. Does anybody know if the average scores fr the study units are representative of anything? Any help or pointers for studying auditing with Gleim is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I didn't use Gleim for AUD, but I'm using it now for REG, and to be honest, the Gleim scoring can be a little demoralizing. They have these “Publisher Adapted” questions that they use (even on their online questions) that are ridiculously hard. So that deflates your scores a bit. I'm still trying to figure out if they're even worth paying attention to (see my thread I just posted today).

Overall, though, it's a good review system. After plowing through the Gleim review online, I switched over to Wiley and started scoring in the high 80's. Not bad considering I slept through college tax classes, which I took almost 5 years ago. Of course, the true test is in two days when I walk into Prometric. Then I'll really see if Gleim pays off.

    Good luck!

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    REG - 87
    FAR - 86 - Woot, all done!
    Ethics - 100

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I will not have time to use more than one source to study for this section. Good luck, and please post how things go!

This is probably a little late, but I am currently using Gleim and RogerCPA (which uses Wiley for questions), and borrowing Becker books from a friend. I agree that some of the Gleim questions are ridiculous! Some of the topics are not covered by Becker at all, and they throw you for a loop. However, a fair amount of the questions in Gleim are reasonably what one might expect to see on the CPA exam (GAAS, for example), and are covered a bit more extensively than Becker and Wiley do for AUD, at least. I've yet to use it for FAR and REG.

    CPA license in progress....
