Hello, I can’t see people here talking much about Gleim CPA MCQs software!! Can some one give his feedback on Gleim as compared to Wiley MCQs testbank software? I just purchased Gleim and I can see its well organized and contains +2000 MCQs.I am planning to start using it for exam practice once I am done with the Roger review lectures ,hopefully by next week.

    Any feedback ?

    Thanks in advance.

Opinions will vary on this site but I was not a huge fan of Gleim's MCQ software. I did like the organization which was very clean and easy to use. However, the detail and difficulty I felt were much harder than anything that I encountered on the exam. I used it for AUD and BEC. As you go through the software you will notice there are Publisher Adapted and Non-Adaptive (believe these are the AICPA released questions). I liked the Non-Adaptive questions as those are the most similar to anything that you will encounter on the exam however there aren't too many of those when compared to the Publisher Adaptive questions. However, some users on this site have used that software exclusively and passed. I feel that Wiley's test bank is more in line with what you will see come exam time. The questions on the exam are actually slightly easier than Wiley's. Currently, I am using CPAexcel and supplementing with Wiley's testbank. I feel that this is a good combination as it helps identify any weaknesses that I may have.

Gleims questions will be considerably harder than the actual exam. Or maybe not harder but more in dept than what you will need to know for the exam. I bought it for REG and AUD. I loved it for AUD, I used it a bit for REG and realized I was better off using Wiley.

I used Gleim exclusively for both the CPA and CMA exams and passed all on my first attempt. For me, MCQ's are the best way for me to learn and to apply the material learned. The only materials I used were the book and the software. I think the key to understanding the material is doing MCQ's and reviewing why you did or did not get the question right. Gleim is a perfect match for this kind of studying.

Plus, the questions are generally harder than what you will find on the actual exam. Also, you will receive some questions that are nearly or are identical to questions you studied using the software. Your approach, in my opinion, should be to do all the questions a couple of times (make sure to only take testlets of questions you have not yet seen). Once you have done this, then take testlets that are questions you did not get correct. This is what worked for me…

Thanks all for the feedback. That was really helpful to have a good idea about Gleim. I am going to do all the Gleim MCQ's at least twice and pray hard for everybody's success.
