I have spent 3 days on the capital budgeting. I got average 90% on MCQs but only 28% on SIMs. The Gleim CPA Review SIMs of this topic are two big and hard. I wonder if the actual exam heavily tests this topic? How hard are actual SIMs compared to Gleim SIMs? I feel so depressed and only 25 days left for me to go through other 9 units and a final review. Now I feel BEC is more difficult than FAR and AUD.

I used Becker, so I can't comment on Gleim sims vs actual BEC sims. What I can say is that I passed BEC by studying around 10 days and only doing Becker mcqs. I didn't really read the book or do any sims.

Yeah those Gleim BEC SIMs are terrible. I would focus more on the learning how to do the types of calculations for the SIMs and understanding the process. Don't beat yourself up so much over those SIMs. I was getting very frustrated, but still made it out of the actual exam alright.

I'm glad to hear this because I've been wondering the same thing. I get good scores on the multiple choice but the SIMS are brutal!! I'm not that far my exam is March 8th but so far the SIMS are awful. currently finishing Econ

@GAP, your words cooled off my mind. I feel if the real exam is like Gleim's SIMs, I won't finish the sims in the limited time. The current spreadsheet button is not easy to used as Microsoft excel.

Don't spend a lot of time on them just make sure you understand how they got to the answer.

For the Gleim BEC users, how did you feel the Gleim MCQ test bank held up to the actual exam?

I just passed BEC in December using Gleim.

You are right, Subunit 11-Capital Budgeting and Subunit 20 Variance Analysis contain horrible SIMs

If you stuck on it for days, just come back to tackle it later. Don't spend too much time on one subunit.

I passed BEC leaving Subunit 11 and 20 on my Gleim textbook incomplete.

BEC IS SO EASY. You should be able to ace it with your eyes closed. I studied for about a week.. roughly 25 hours and got pretty good score. Sims are easy too if you understand the concepts.
