I have couple questions…. 1) On the AICPA site the SIMS had the equations. Do you think this a sign they may be provided on the actual exam.? 2) do you think the SIMS will be adaptive based on how you are doing? They are broken into two parts so it makes me wonder if it will be like multiple choice. 3). Anyone using Gleim? The SIMS are killer, I feel on the NPV ones they are asking for things they you don’t know how to calculate. Anyone else seeing that? I can calculations in text but when it adds making amortization tables or calculating IRR using spreadsheet with no table I feel this is more than needed.

Nobody knows at this moment for the new sims , since they are not live yet. Regarding Gleim, well it's just a sim, and they are making their best guess regarding the format. But I would say it's retarded to have to calculate the whole amortization table. Most of the questions I saw on the actual exam had the PV tables. IRR , well most of the times they will just have to compare it to the NPV, so you just plug in a number until you reach 0.

I am using Roger, but I have Gleim's books. I like them, for the vast majority of topics (for FAR and AUD anyway, haven't looked at BEC or REG.) But, some of his questions are a bit old-fashioned and assume you have knowledge that you don't yet have. I think quite a few of his questions are rather outdated but actually he's known for better SIMs than most of the other review courses.
I'd have to see what exactly you meant before I could make a call on it. If you get stuck on a question, I'd just move on to another one and not waste time on it.
