I am considering using Gleim for REG and Ninja MCQ as a supplement. Just wondering if anyone had any success in passing REG with Gleim on the first try. I am intersted in hearing from those with little to none tax experience.

It took me 4 months of study with Gleim. I did take several tax classes though prior, though do not work in tax.
I found it as hard as FAR.

Used Gleim for Audit, studying for Reg now. What helped was doing all of the MCQs at least twice. You can use Ninja, because they mix up the questions differently, but the questions are pretty much the same. I waited until the last week to study the sims.

As far as learning the material, I found that I can only get through the text if reading along w/ the audios, or I would just do the audio-visual lectures. I didn't find the regular lectures that helpful.

Edit: This was after a 2 year break, so I will consider that a first try lol.

I passed REG today with Gleim and supplemented with Ninja the last 2 weeks…. Gleim is extremely good for sims as its a mirror image of real exam.. also they have a huge MCQ test bank… the only thing u need is time to revise all of these atlas twice and do ninja as it will refresh, clear your concepts and make you thorough what you studied in Gleim!

    FAR- TBD
    BEC - 75
    REG - 76
    AUD- TBD

mtaylo24 – did you add 17 points to your AUD score after adding NINJA or did you use it on one of the failed attempts as well?

@Jeff – Didn't really use Ninja the last three times at all. I may have bought the Ninja notes then, but I didn't really utilize them like I should have. I wasn't really focused and I don't think I ever hit a review phase and never bothered studying for the simulations on any of those three attempts. I would always finished the last chapter a day or two prior to the exam.

What put me over was finding a strategy that worked for me, many thanks to you, this website, and motivational youtube videos to have that developed!

What are you going to do differently this time around on REG so that you hit the review phase (or close to it?)

Well I hit the review for my fourth attempt. I actually had 2 weeks to review. What got me through the materials faster was either reading the book along with the audio lectures, or by watching the audio visual presentations. I stopped worrying about retaining every little piece of information, because I figured I would eventually see it again. I just kept it moving. I plan to do the same for REG.

After I was able to do all of that, during my review, I hit MCQs, no more than 20 MCQs for each subunit. I wanted to keep all of the material fresh, so I sort of skipped around. I would do Ch 1, then Ch 20, then Ch 2, then Ch 19 , etc. Lastly, I factored in the Sim Wizard during the very last week of review, but they weren't as time-consuming as I would have thought, so I probably should have done that earlier…I hate to say it, but I didn't really try when attempting the sims, instead, I did all of my learning from the answer explanations.

What was your Trending Score in NINJA for AUD on the 78?

What is your NINJA Trending goal for REG?

Hate to say it, but I do most of my studying w/ Gleim, not Ninja, but fortunately, they have a performance analysis. My final average for Auditing using Gleim was a 69.9. I am only a few chapters in with Reg, and Gleim doesn't provide a trending goal.

    Ah – my fault then.

I have you down as recently purchasing the REG MCQ.

Jeff…I do purchase your tools, just use them from time to time as a supplement, nothing too serious. Haven't tried only Ninja yet, but do I have to applaud the software. Keep up the good work!
