If I had to do it all over again, I would do the Gliem (spelling) trial offer. It seems like people say it's expensive, but very thorough. I use Becker and NINJA MCQ and both have worked well for me. My biggest complaint about Becker is the lack of customer service.

I used Roger and Ninja 10 pt combo and although I passed them all, if I could go back I probably would have went with Gleim. It would have been cheaper in the long run and I feel that it gives you everything you need to pass. The only drawback is that it's very thorough and can be a bit overwhelming. I only used it for my REG retake, but I was very impressed by their test bank and how similar the sims were to the actual exam.

I would sign up for free trials to all of them and see which one fits your learning style best. I still consider Ninja MCQ a must for when you start your review.

    FAR: 75 Roger & Ninja (notes/flashcards/audio/MCQ)
    AUD: 73, 81
    BEC: 71, retake 8/29

Becker self study for all sections and ninja MCQ's as a supplement for 2 sections…I passed so I like them. If I had it to over again I would still use Becker and Ninja because they worked for me.

@bhunt815 (OP I'm going to use your thread for a minute) I'm in Louisiana too and will get my final score 9/22 and have to have my paperwork in before 10/1 to be licensed in 2017. Did the letter you receive giving you instructions on what to fill out and mail in match what the website says – application, fee, and experience verification – or did they want more? I've looked on this site for info but no one else has asked.

I used Roger and supplemented with Ninja MCQ (and occasionally Audio or Notes).

It depends on your learning style. I get bored very quickly, so Roger kept me engaged (he's high energy and funny).

I used his textbook to follow his video lecture. I then used Ninja for the MCQs and to support what I learned from Roger.

@Holly – Exactly like the website says – The LA CPA Board seems to be much more efficient than most other states. I even made a bonehead mistake on my application and they let me change it and fax it back to them so I didn't have to start the process over again. Once you know you've passed your last section (I love your confidence) you should immediately fill out your application. Don't wait for anything from NASBA. My application was already 2 weeks in process before I got any news from NASBA stating that I was able to apply. Louisiana is also pretty great about the experience requirement. I hadn't worked directly under a CPA in years but I'd been audited by the same CPA firm for 8 years straight and the board allowed the lead auditor from the CPA firm to vouch for me.

So, send the application, experience verification, and your check or money order and get ready to receive a really pretty certificate with your name on it.

I've only used Becker, but have zero complaints! Definitely recommend buying the Final Review to go with it as well

@Holly – one more little oddity that might interest you. I found out that I was a CPA by checking my name on cpaverify.org long before I heard back from the state board. I just checked on a whim one day and there I was. It was a week or more later that I got an email from the state board telling me that I was a CPA.

Before picking Wiley CPAExcel I found this guy's youtube videos (and doing free trials at Wiley, Gleim, and Roger) to be a big help in making the right choice. It will take some time, but only a fraction of time compared to what you will studying.

I have been using Becker as my primary study tool-I like it. And I will second those who say Ninja is must for review portion. I am not sure I would have felt confident if I didn't get through the Ninja testbank as part of my review. It is discouraging and hard but at the end makes you feel more prepared.
