I called Becker today to try and cash in on the Becker Promise for my FAR exam. The customer service representative told me I would need to pay $270 (2012 book and registration fee) to repeat the course. I took the first set online using the 2011 material. Is it necessary to order the 2012 book? I thought there were no new major changes for the 2012 exam. I plan on retaking FAR in January. I’m thinking of just studying my 2011 material (and actually complete the course this time) and maybe supplementing it with the NINJA notes. Any thoughts?

Dude ! i think it would be more than enough … my friend exactly a year ago in 2010 studied for the FAR, AUD & Business from the 2009 books … i think he did go to the updates to check if something large changed … otherwise … I know that there is a cpareviewforfree multiple choice questions that you might want to check …

I called Becker yesterday and they told me the 1st quarter there aren't going to be any new changes to the exam. The new 2012 changes are going to come into affect in April/May and so forth.

Can anyone else confirm that Q1 2012 exams will be on 2011 material?

Any updates on this? Those of us with 2011 material can we request the updated 2012 material at no cost?

I had to reorder my materials and when I spoke to Becker they said they only offered the updated 2011 material because so much had changed (IFRS). They are not offering it for 2012.
