I had a break in my studying due to circumstances and have 2012 Becker materials that expire in September 2014. Will the 2012 materials be sufficient to study for the exams? I haven’t taken any exams yet, but will begin with FAR. I’m just wondering if I can still be successful with them. Have the materials changed drastically since 2012? I’m trying to decide if I should get the 2014 materials, but it’s a lot of money to shell out. Any advice?

It'll be a lot $ to shell out if you have to retake it too, then you'll have to pay for new materials on top of that and your exact fees again.

It's up to you, but i heard when using older material it's best to do it with FAR because of the least changes. I'd at least supplement it with other material

I was not were of this fact a year ago (and until I called customer service up) but, if you go to Becker's website you can download the 2014 version to your computer free. It will include all updated material and will include a 2014 version of the book (the book is a pdf like format and can only be read when using the site)

In terms of changes…. Cant speak for FAR… however, audit has been revised for 2014, I assume REG will be modified every year(minor or major), BEC might still be the same…. I just asked if I can use the 2012 version of the book in another thread.
