Hey guys, so I just wanted to post something regarding Wiley TB and Becker.
I am mainly studying with the Becker Self-Study course and I just purchased the Wiley TB for REG because I’ve heard horror stories about how Becker didn’t prepare people for REG at all. I am not doing too well on these Wiley questions (averaging 70-75%, sometimes in the 60s) on my practice sessions. I just feel like some of the detail in the questions are ridiculous and I don’t know how I could possibly remember all the little rules (AGI limits, phase outs, etc.) surrounding deductions/adjustments and especially AMT (that is a nightmare in and of itself). Becker barely covered some topics (such as AMT) and it doesn’t really dive too deep into the material…is that the underlying problem that Becker has with REG?
I did fairly well on Becker the first time through the questions (averaged about 80-85%), which is a hell of a lot better than what I did the first time through with FAR.
I’m just gonna go through all of the Wiley questions, take notes, and write out some fact nuggets to help me remember this stuff. I thought FAR was bad, but REG is quickly becoming my least favorite.
I would appreciate any insight from Wiley and Becker users! Sorry if this is pretty long, I just had a rough day and needed to rant a bit.
