I’m studying with Becker for my second exam. Becker worked really well for me with AUD, I studied with Tim Geherghty (highlight all the things) and some other guy for a few sections, Will Brown or something? Anyways, a lot of highlighting which was great. Cut out unimportant stuff and really emphasized the big stuff. Just started with FAR and I am NOT a fan of Pete Olento, who hasn’t highlighted a SINGLE thing, has only circled and underlined a few things in all of F1.

How do you guys feel about the differences in Becker instructors and how do you navigate them to best suit your learning style?

    AUD - 79
    FAR - 82
    REG - 78
    BEC - 80

Done in 5 months with a wedding, finishing my Masters degree, a new public accounting job, a small business, a puppy, and a house in the mix. If I can do it, you can do it. I'm not normally good at things, it's just God is awesome.

I really cannot stand Tim & his highlighting. Highlighting does no good if the entire darn page is a big yellow blob. The point of highlighting is to make important things stand out. Personally, I like Olinto better because he does emphasize the important things and tends to be more straight to the point.

Honestly, because of all the highlighting and the fact that he reads directly from the book, which I can read on my own, I stopped listening to Gearty's lectures. If I was struggling, I'd go watch the lecture, but mostly I just read out of the book & did the multiple choice questions. However, that fits my style of learning and I would definitely NOT recommend that approach to everybody. I passed both FAR & AUD on the first take.

Olinto is the best! But if you dont like the underlining, just use a highlighter…

Back in 2012, I purchased Becker, studied a little bit, never tested, and preferred Olinto.

This time around, I'm studying hard, testing, and I actually prefer Gearty. Olinton just talks fast and has an interesting tone of voice. Gearty is calmer, but he explains the material well.

The first time around, Becker was free (in college, I was a student campus ambassador for them, so it was free. Since it was free, I took it for granted!) I'm more serious about my studies now, and I'm paying for Becker. lol

Motivated by JC. I do it to make God proud.

    AUD: 83 October 2015
    REG: 81 January 2016
    BEC: 83 February 2016

Personally, I enjoyed Peter Olinto's lectures, not as big of a fan of the other Becker instructors.
