Hey everyone,

I just took my first Practice Exam in Becker for FAR, and the results are as follows:

Testlet 1 – 63

Testlet 2 – 70

Testlet 3 – 70

Sims – didn’t record it but for the most part got more 75% of the points (except for nonmonetary exchanges which was a nightmare)

From what I’ve read, people say that these practice exams are harder? Is this true? I still have the other practice exam and the Becker Final Review Software to do before my test on the 31st!

Any input/constructice criticism is appreciated!

That's actually very similar to what I got, haha.

T1 – 63

T2 – 73

T3 – 70

I felt they were okay and the sims i thought were MUCH easier and not representative at all of the real exam. For example, the 3 drop down Dilutive earnings per share question. That took me all of 3 minutes, haha. Overall, FAR is a tough test not because the questions are hard, but because there are so many topics testable. I studied for FAR in 24-25 days (not by choice) and feel that I have about a 60% chance of passing based on my exam experience. The questions I knew, I knew well, but the ones I lightly studied, I had no chance to get the answer right because I simply did not know how to do the calculation!

If I have to retake it, I will probably do 20 MCQ packets in each section over and over until 80%+. I recommend you do the same from now leading up to your test with a slight emphasis on Govt/NFP accounting as not knowing that alone will kill you on exam day as they make up roughly 25% of your score. You also do not have GASBs at your disposal for sims.

I took FAR on Tuesday and the Becker MC are harder than the real test. The Becker SIMS on the other hand are much easier. I was getting high 60's to low 70's on the practice testlets but 90 or better on the SIMS.

Thanks for the input! Just took the second practice test and i averaged about a 67 for the MP and the sims were a joke! Mp average dropped a bit but i am going to do the final review Sunday – Tuesday and lots of progress tests.

Think it is worth it to redo the practice test? I feel that it's pointless because I know the answers

I only redid the MC of the practice tests, but it's up to you. If there's a specific topic you feel like you could understand a little better you should probably spend time on that section.

I took a Becker practice exam on Sunday and the actual exam on Monday (yesterday).

From what I saw, I would say the MCQs are harder on the practice exam and the sims are harder on the actual exam.

MCQ – Becker was harder than actual exam

SIMS – actual exam was harder than Becker
