Becker Question –

I know I asked this question before, but I received limited responses.

I failed AUD with a 69 using Ninja. Did a ton of practice questions (6000 and trending 90%) and sims.

I was stronger in MCQ’s and weaker in SIMS. Going to prepare for my retake. Im not sure if I should change courses but I felt ninja mcq’s and sims were not good for AUD.

Im not sure if I should stick with ninja or change courses. any suggestions?

Did you read the Ninja book for AUD as well?

I used becker book/video lectures and did a good amount of backers mcq's along the way.

I read the becker book but I didt dedicate a ton of my studies to reading the becker book.

I read the ninja book on areas where I was struggling with. I did not read it on areas I understood.

For my AUD retake I read through the Ninja Book and then did all the questions for that section before moving on to the next one. My score went from a 73 to an 81.

How long did it take you to get through each section? Did you do the ninja questions “new questions only” by each section?

Also, did you practice sims/how many sims did you do?

I had a little over 3 weeks for the retake. I log my hours on a spreadsheet, but didn't put down how long I studied each section for the retake. All together it was around 75 hours total. I'd do only new questions until I went through them all at least once. Once I got through all the sections I would do random sets and missed last time. My Ninja access ran out about a week before my exam so I switched back to Roger. I did around 40 sims and little over 2200 mcq's between both test banks. I didn't write out any notes for the retake. Just hit mcq's and sims once I finished the book. The last few days before the exam I skimmed through Roger's book and read the Ninja notes a few times.

I know we had this conversation before. Your method is very different then mine but I'm seriously considering it. I just read the book and re watch lectures and took notes.

Then I hit all of the mcqs using random sets of 30 from scratch. Hopefully your method works for me.

I like Ninja because of the explanations.

My strategy is to read as much as possible. I answered less than 500 MCQ's while studying for AUD.

I also recommend reading the actual standards and AL for AUD. I printed them out (reading from a screen is not the same as reading off paper, IMO) and read straight through as many as I could. Day after day. If you are a reader, you can knock out a big chunk of them after a few weeks. They refer to each other a lot so even if you don't get through all of them (which you probably won't), you will be exposed to most of what is tested on the exam. I also read through the Ninja book just to cover anything i missed using my strategy.

I was taking notes but realized that took too much time, so I stopped. The thing is you don't know what questions you'll get anyway. There's questions I was able to answer only because I employed this strategy.

I've told people that's what I did for AUD and they look at me like I'm nuts. That's cool, different strokes for different folks. Do what works best for you.

The only thing I would have done differently is to have done more practice sims. I did less than 5. Also I recommend taking FAR before AUD if possible.

Hopefully it works for you as well. I can't take credit for that method. Someone posted that's what they did and it kind of made sense for me to try it. I agree with jgod about knowing the standards. I didn't read through them, but I made sure I knew where to find things without wasting time looking them up. You want to leave yourself enough time for the sims to allow you to utilize the AL. It wasn't much help for me the first time, but I had one sim on the retake where I found most of the answer. I would have never known how to answer it because it was a very specific topic.

I felt the videos for AUD were a waste since it's mostly conceptual. I'd rather read and learn from mcq explanations. Good luck on your retake!
