I am taking REG in Oct and am studying for L3 with the Becker Review. Becker provides updates on their website for all of the sections, and so this is where I have turned for my updates in recent law changes. I am slightly confused on R3-28 for the Expense Deduction in Lieu of Depreciation (Sect. 179). If you click on the actual L3 update on Becker’s site, it says to just cross out some of the numbers and replace them with updated ones. However, on the “Tax Relief Act of 2010- Income Tax Law Update (R1-R3)” it says here to just completely delete all of this material and replace it with the following updated information they provide. Should I study both sets? Or forget about the text in the book?

Check the dates of the updates. Sometimes there are updates to the updates
