I’m taking the FAR within 8 weeks and I just wanted to know, how long did you guys take notes and watch the lectures. What I mean to say is how many weeks did it take you to take notes from the video lectures, and how many weeks did you spend on the multiple choice? I’m use the Becker home study program. It would be helpful to gain some insight, so I know how much time I should properly allocate on the videos so I don’t miss out on a bulk of those MC’s. And yes, I am also doing some MC’s while watching the lectures, just not as much as I thought I would be. Thanks for the help.

I used Jeff's NINJA Framework which I highly recommend. You have to remember that everyone learns differently and adjusting your plan to best fit you is very very important…

I watched all lectures and took notes as they told me to during the lectures. That took longer than all the lecture times combined because I paused it a lot because they went too fast and I zoned out a lot. I don't remember how many hours of lecture there were, but you can check that yourself after you load all the videos. I had logged 48.5 hours of study time by the end of all lectures.

Then I went back through each chapter and took notes like crazy! I also studied the Becker flashcards during this time. This took a long time, but it was well worth it!

Then for MCQ, it took forever! I honestly wasn't able to get through all of the supplemental questions. I focused more on going back through my notes and condensing them…

I spent a total of 159 hours in about a month and by the end my brain was totally overloaded! You have a bit more time before your exam and I think that will be much better for you. Good luck!!

So far I've probably spent well over 200 hours. I plan to put in another 100 before 8/29. I've got to pass this sucker the first time around or all hell will break loose at work.

i'm interested in knowing, too!

my objective is to kill 2 chapters per book — that is, reading through each chapter and writing my own notes to supplement the NINJA notes.

i also plan on making notes from MCQ's.

do you think i can read 2 entire chapters per week (2-3 study per weekday after work, all day sat/sun) and take notes?
