    Hey all!

So I’m about to start studying FAR with Becker. Waiting for my processing, but I plan on taking the exam around July 1.

So at this point, it would be a little over 8 weeks away. How would you plan this out? If I do one chapter a week, I won’t have enough time, and two chapters a week is a little extensive / fast.

I’m thinking I’d like to have around 2 weeks at the end for review. So that leaves me with 6 weeks to cover all the Becker chapters. What chapters do you think take the longest to get through? Which chapters could I double up on? I know I can just see how it goes as I progress — but I really want to stick with a schedule..

    Thanks!

It depends on what other obligations you have. If you're not working and can devote all your time to studying, I think you could get through 1 chapter every 2 days if you're really dedicated.

I usually would watch a video lecture, read that section of the chapter, and then do the MCQ's.

It's difficult to say which chapters are hardest because it will vary by person. The only chapter that I thought was significantly easier than the others was F1. Definitely get comfortable with F8 and F9 though.

    F - 86
    R - 90
    A - 97
    B - 91

If you're not working, it's very possible to get through the 10 chapters in 6 weeks, leaving 2 weeks for review. If you are working, it'll be a little difficult, but it is doable. 6 weeks is 42 days, so if you do a chapter every 4 days, you'd be done in 6 weeks. You can probably finish the first chapter in 2 days since that's probably the easiest chapter.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. I am working, but only part time (3 full days a week).

Going to plan on doing 2 chapters a week.. then reviewing like crazy. I can get a lot done the 4 days a week I have off, just gotta stick to it!

Btw.. .MrsBing, please tell me that is in reference to Chandler Bing?

@sarita, yes, my user name is because of Chandler Bing, he was my favorite character on Friends. You're the only person whose ever gotten the reference.

Just to add my two cents to this…I covered about 20-30 pages a day. My strategy was read the chapter, watch the lectures, do the questions. After I completed a module, I would spend a day reviewing the whole module again. So about four days per module and about two modules per week. I would say that's perfectly doable, especially with only working part-time. I did it as a full-time student (so probably about comparable time commitments as working part-time each week).

The other piece of advice that I would add that I don't see mentioned (unless I missed it) is after about five modules, stop and go back to study the first five (again, maybe one module a day). If you cover 10 modules back to back without stopping to review, chances are you will have forgotten a lot of F1, F2, F3, etc. by the time you get to the end.

So my personal schedule would look something like:

    Week 1 – F1, F2

    Week 2 – F3, F4

    Week 3 – F5, review F1-F5

    Week 4 – F6, F7

    Week 5 – F8, F9

    Week 6 – F10, review F6-F10

Week 7 and on – Review everything
