Study Strategy before Becker Fast Pass?

Hi. I’m currently signed up for the Becker Fast Pass program which will start in the middle of June. I have about 3 weeks that I can commit to studying before I begin the Becker Fast Pass Program. The Fast Pass schedule is as follows:

    BEC: June 17 – June 24

    FAR: June 28 – July 12

    AUD: July 17 – July 24

    REG: July 29 – August 7

Obviously, the Fast Pass schedule is extremely quick, so I feel like it’d be a good idea to get a jumpstart on the studying. Which tests should I start studying for during these 3 weeks before the Fast Pass program begins? I actually feel like I should do pretty well on BEC as I was a Finance and Accounting major and I had a very solid business core including IT and everything else at my university. The biggest challenge I see for BEC is cost accounting. I am probably most unfamiliar with the REG material, but since that class is not until August, it doesn’t seem to make much sense to start studying for that now. Since FAR has so much material, should I start reviewing that for 2 weeks, and then for the last week before the BEC class starts, start going through BEC material? And, if I do start studying for FAR, what would be the best review strategy? Should I actually try to get all of the specific details down for the different topics or should I just get a general understanding of all of the different topics since I’ll likely to forget the specific details once I do finally get to the FAR Fast Pass class?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm doing the FastPass right now, but mine started the day after my graduation, so I didn't get a break at all. Honestly, I wouldn't spend your three weeks studying for anything because you'll cover it all later and you'll probably forget it in the meantime anyway. I'm sure some people wouldn't agree with me though, lol. I'd take your three weeks of sweet freedom and enjoy them, because once you start studying, it's all you're going to do. All day. Every day. 🙂

My big tip would be to knock out the supplemental lecture on the weekend before your class starts. I'm currently in the FastPass for BEC, and being done with B-6 has really helped me stay upbeat.

    F 86 (4/21)
    R Waiting! (5/16)
    B Studying! (5/31)
    A Trying to pretend it doesn't exist...(7/3)

Thanks! Since you two have already started the Fast Pass, does the pace of the courses seem manageable? Any more tips to stay on top of things?

Ok, take farinamh28's advice. Doing the supplemental lecture is probably a good idea! Definitely don't need the entire 3 weeks for it though. I don't work, I'm just full-time studying so I think it's totally manageable. Sometimes the classes are back to back and those weeks kind of suck, but whenever you get two or three days for each lesson, it's a lot easier. I still have time to go out and do things for fun. I just took REG today and felt okay about it, so we'll see in a few weeks if I've been having too much fun lol.

I am beginning the online FastPass course on Monday, June 11th. I have had my materials since November which was when I accepted my job with one of the Big 4 firms. I don't begin work until mid-September. I attempted to go through all of the lectures and highlight and take the suggested notes. I made it halfway through REG (so I made it through 2 &1/2) books before I lost complete interest and felt that it was a major waste of time to get so far ahead of myself. Plus, it was my last semester of my senior year and I had a few marks yet to leave behind 🙂

I was wondering however, are any of you planning on using, or have used the Ninja notes? I was wondering how well they line up with the Becker materials.

    FAR - PASSED (80)
    BEC - PASSED (82)
    AUD - PASSED (81)
    REG - PASSED (77)
    DONE
