I recently switched to Becker and just sat for BEC in the Jan / Feb window.

How does everyone use Becker? I mean do you take additional notes other than what the lectures recommend you highlight / underline? Also, do you complete the MCQ as you complete the lectures or wait until the end?

Thanks for the tips and GOOD LUCK!

I have used Becker for all of my sections. I HIGHLY recommend writing your own notes. I also recommend ordering the Ninja Notes. There is so much information and the Ninja Notes really break things down into manageable portions. I listen to all of the lectures and take notes before I do MCQ. If I am struggling on a section I will go back to that lecture and listen to it again while following along in my notes. I also read my Ninja Notes on almost a daily basis. Also while doing MCQ, I write down little ‘factoids' in my Ninja Notes if it is something I didn't know or something I seem to be struggling with. Everyone is different and everyone will have different suggestions. You have to figure out what works best for you…

I have seen many people say do the lectures before multiple choice questions. Does that mean say F1 then MCQ or all Lectures then MCQ?

    All lectures, then MCQs.

The thinking behind this is that by the time you get to the end of the lectures, there is little chance you are going to remember what you learned while doing the MCQ from 2 weeks ago. Therefore, you just wasted a lot of energy. I use to not do it this way but it is a suggested way by Jeff.

Here's what I do, and it's worked REALLY well for me for my first two sections. I base my study schedule on the schedule for the in-class sections, so here's FAR as an example:

    Before class:

    – Read through the chapter we'll be covering

    – Watch the on demand lecture we'll be covering, and highlight/underline/mark up the book as appropriate

    After class:

    – Go through MCQs till I get at least 90% (so I can do the Becker promise)

    – Work through simulations

    – Review flashcards for chapter covered in Tuesday class

    – Do progress test (if applicable)

    Before next class:

    – Repeat above procedures, but for next chapter covered

Then, after all the in-class sessions are finished:

    – Re-write the points in the book that the instructors (both on-demand and in-class) emphasized

    – Rework MCQs

    – Rework SIMS

    – Take as many progress tests as possible

    – Take both final exams

    – Go over flashcards

It's a lot, and depending on how well you absorb and retain information it might be overkill, but like I said, it works really well for me. I usually have time to do all that and get some rest the day before the exam so that I'm not completely frazzled when I walk into the testing center. Good luck!

@wickedrentlover – You are obviously the kind of student that I always wanted to be! My hat is off to you!

haha, I'm definitely an overachiever at heart. That doesn't mean it doesn't make me miserable–but I just remind myself that the more miserable I am, the better I'll do–and my goal is to never have to take these tests again!

Let's say R1 is split into 4 sections. I watch the lecture for 1st part, do MQC's for that, watch 2nd part, do MCQ's for that etc…

At some point, either before or after doing MCQ's, I read through the E-book (much better than the physical book -as it's got all the notations and highlighting built in).

As for forgetting stuff, I schedule a 2 week review before the exam. During that time, I spend 1 day on each chapter. In 1 day I reread the E-book, work all the MCQ's and SIM's on that chapter, read through the Beckers Final Review book, and do flashcards. That refreshes the material for me!

    REG- 2/12 - 90 | AUD- 4/12 - 94 | BEC- 5/12- 85 | FAR- 8/12 - 82
DONE!!! I used Becker Self Study & Ninja Notes/Audio
