    Becker Question –

I am a first time candiate studying for AUD. Everything in A1 and A2 went great, and I was right on track making high 80s and 90s on homework and progress tests. This week I have started A3 and making 75s on homework. Should I be concerned? Or is this material just harder?

No. The material in A3 and A4 are the most detailed sections for AUD (I assume you are using Becker).

Those are still great scores. I would recommend writing down the questions you got wrong into little “fact nuggets” (not the whole question). This way you can go back and study later.

I spent much more time reading and really trying to understand A3 and A4.

    Hope that helps, good luck!

Thanks!! I think I just did so well before I was not expecting 75s! I also think the questions were a little tricky! I kept getting confused with the questions describing tests of details. I do not remember seeing that in the book! My 50 hour work week probably didn't help matters either 😉

I also scored much lower on A3 and A4…probably lower than 75's. Don't worry about it…those are still good scores and that drop is normal for those chapters. I personally thought the order and way Becker explained the AUD material was a little strange. Once you go through the whole book and the connections between all of the concepts become clearer, you'll be amazed by how easy those questions that you missed the first time are.

My advice is to not get too hung up on the percentages on your first pass through. Obviously, you should take your time and do your best but the point of the MCQs is to practice and learn. Each one you get wrong is an opportunity to learn the information.

Across all four sections, I had a handful of sections in FAR (looking at you bonds/leases/pensions) and BEC where my first time pass through were in the 50% or lower range. Becker treats it as if you've never seen the material before so utilize that.

Just make sure you're reading through the answer explanations, even for the ones you got right, and to read why the other answers are wrong to reinforce your understanding.

But, it sounds like you're off to a solid start. Good luck!
