    Becker Question –

Is there a reason that cannot be done? Do they condense things better in FastPass and do a better job teaching at a fast pace than the self-study lecturers?

From the people i've talked to in Fastpass you can just as easily do it with Self-Study. They just provide the structure and schedule to keep you going at a fast pace.

I didn't do Becker fast pass but completed the CPA exam within 4 months using Becker self-study. I did two lectures a week and the homework for those lectures and then left 6 days for review for each section. Halfway through each section I would do progress tests everyday so I wouldn't forget what I learned. Here is how much I studied for each section:

    BEC – 3.5 weeks

    AUD – 3.5 weeks

    FAR – 6 weeks

    REG – 4.5 weeks

The key is staying committed to studying. I honestly think doing it as fast as you can is more beneficial then dragging it out over a few months. I felt like it was easier to retain the information by doing each section quickly and staying on schedule.

    BEC - Feb 2012: 80
    AUD - Feb 2012: 84
    FAR - Apr 2012: 78
    REG - May 2012: 90

    Thanks Becker!

I tend to agree with Texas 27 on this. I have taken two months on all the sections, and if I could do it over a gain, I would condense that down to 4 weeks average per section. I feel like I had to spend most of the first week I set aside for Final Review to just relearn so much of what I “learned” in weeks 1 and 2.

Self Study can get you where you want to be. You just have to condense the study time and STICK TO YOUR PLAN.

I am thinking about taking BEC in the third week of July to force myself to get it done in less time. This is the last one, and I am READY TO BE FINISHED…..
