Reimbursement for Becker before an offer

I was just wondering if I were to take Becker (which is only offered in May here) and pay for it out of my own pocket, is it common practice to reimburse for the cost of taking Becker. I ask because I will probably not even get a job offer until Summer/Fall 2013. I know many firms will pay for Becker (As well as provide a bonus for new hires and reimburse CPA fees) directly after you accept an offer, but I would like to start as soon as possible. I do not want to be waiting to take Becker because I am waiting for an offer because once I get an offer I will probably not have much time to do a self study or even do the class before my anticipated start date.

If you would tell me what size firm or firm name you have experience for.

    Thanks in advance!

I know mine wouldn't. I had received my offer a year in advance due to an internship, but they wouldn't pay until I officially started full-time.

    BEC - 90 PASSED
    FAR - 84 PASSED
    AUD - 93 PASSED
    REG - 84 PASSED

    I DID IT!!!!

    Using Becker Self-Study

It depends on the firm. Once I accepted my offer my firm paid for me to take Becker even before I started my full time job. Basically my timeline was as follows:

August 2011 – Received and accepted full-time offer

April 2012 – Ordered Becker on firm's dime while I was finishing school.

    October 2012 – Started full-time

I am not sure if they would reimburse you if you start before the offer, but they might pay for it after you accept the offer and before you start.

    REG - 5/21/2012 - 85
    FAR - 7/24/2012 - 86
    BEC - 8/27/2012 - 85
    AUD - 10/5/2012 - 72....rematch 1/3/13 (waiting)

Like others said.. depends on the firm. My firm won't pay for anything that you bought or test you took prior to starting to work at their firm.
