I can't speak for the others, but I thought Becker was great for REG. I supplemented it with Wiley and turned out to be a perfect combination. You already passed a couple so you may want to stick with has already worked for you. Good luck!!

I also vouch Becker. I'm using Becker 2012 (self-study) with no other supplements and felt well prepared for the exam. I just took it at the end of May and passed it. I can't speak for other materials but Becker seemed to treat me well 🙂

    REG (5/31/12) - 90
    FAR (7/12/12) - 85
    AUD (8/23/12) - 91
    BEC (10/13/12) - 85

Great question. For me, I was looking for lectures that would be both energetic and thorough. I'm using Roger's review for REG and already passed AUD… so far, I really like it. Roger teaches all the lessons himself, which is one of the big reasons I went with this one.

As part of the course, some of the study will be questions out of Wiley, which has a pretty good reputation (also used by Yaeger). I would recommend listening to some sample lectures for any course you are considering so you know if it's a good match for YOU, and you are motivated to keep listening. Also, take a look at expiration dates.

If you are just reading and doing questions, Wiley and CPAExcel are good, but different. I do better in a “classroom” type of setting, watching examples on a dry-erase board, listening, watching, reviewing assignments in class, stories, memory aids. Roger is pretty motivational, so that has helped get through the volumes of material.

    Good luck.

I am using Roger (so far only for FAR) and love it. But I hear a lot of people talk about how they wish he would drop dead as he lectures. Its a love hate thing… I almost went with Yaeger, but listened to a lecture with Phil himself and couldn't stand him (plus was super annoyed by their pricing- I don't want a bloody ipad, just give me a few $$$$ of the price) so chose Roger. Got it on sale for 1595 and love it. The books are fantastic and he explains things in a way that make sense (to me).

I have used yaeger and roger and I find roger to be better. I enjoy his energy and teaching style more. Roger uses funny stories to keep you entertained and they are good memory trick when you take the exam. I highly recommend it!

I am using Roger CPA review system and love it. I am a very visual learner and his teaching style keeps me awake and his jokes give you a mini-brain-break during the lecture. But your own study style should be what determines what material you use. I have not used any other system, but have heard that some of the others are really dry. That would not work for me, as it would not keep me engaged and attentive.

Price can also be a factor. Roger CPA seems more reasonably priced to me. Some review systems include study planners, flash cards, USB, or online, others you have to pay extra.

Defiantly go to the different web sites and look to see what they offer with their program. It just depends on your needs and study style.

    Good luck.

    AUD - Passed
    FAR - Apr
    REG - Feb
    BEC - Feb
