REG MCQ: Becker vs Wiley

    Hi everyone,

I’ve started studying for REG and feel like the amount of MCQs that Becker has in their database is not sufficient for me to really master all the information. I’ve signed up for a trial with Wiley but since I’ve only started studying the individuals section it’s hard for me to tell if Wiley questions are at all different from Becker’s. So far it seems like there’s a decent amount of overlap – can anyone confirm/deny this? I know all test banks contain questions licensed from AICPA, so I wasn’t sure if Wiley’s database will include anything new that’s worth the money.

I can't answer your specific question, but I can give you some feedback and a person who has used the Wiley TB for every section. I have found it absolutely invaluable, and I do not think I would have been able to pass without it.

The questions prepare you extremely well for the actual exam. Many of the questions I saw on my exams were almost identical to ones I found in the Wiley TB.

My advice, but the Wiley TB. It's worth every penny and more….

I don't have a trial version just yet. A lot of people have had success with it though and the price is friendly.

I supplemented Becker with Ninja and I'm very happy. Plus you can't beat that price.

I Used Wiley CPA Excel Along With using Ninja and It was Great. Did the same for AUD which I just took and had the same experience, there were no surprises and I felt very prepared.

I have used/am using Wiley with Becker. This is my experience:

Fall 2011: Sat for REG, failed using only Becker.

Spring 2012: Sat for REG, passed using Becker + Wiley

this time: sitting tomorrow, studied using Becker + Wiley.

I find Wiley worth the price. The coverage for AMT and E+P, specifically, far exceeds what Becker provides. There are pros/cons to each, however, if I use becker and study and then switch to wiley and am not doing so well, I know I need to hit certain areas harder as I don't have them mastered.

This is my approach. Good luck in your studies – hopefully I can report back that I passed lol

    REG - 81
    FAR - 79
    AUD - 94
    BEC - OCT 15

Thanks guys, this is all very helpful. I'll give Ninja a try, especially because the price is quite friendly as Jeff has pointed out.

BlakeK77 – lol, I wish I felt the same way walking out of that exam:) I did pretty good on all the Becker tests, but felt the exam was brutal. I guess I'll find out on the 4th how it really went.
