    Hi guys,

    My question is to those who actually passed REG with Becker course.

    My exam is on July 20th, and I want your opinion regarding my studying plan for chapters 1 through 4 only (TAX)

    With FAR, I only studied what Tim and Olinto highlighted + MCQ and SIMs.

    I do not know if the same is smart to do for REG regarding the tax portion. I feel like I do not desire to memorize every tax fact in the book.. I find it more appealing to study what Tim actually highlight or talk about…. I’ve been doing good with MCQ on the HW (scoring 80+ for ch.1) ..

    What do you guys think? Please don’t be fooled by my FAR score, it’s not an indication of how well I do on REG. I’m not familiar with TAX; it’s a new subject for me.

    I heard so many things about ch3 and 4, which is corporate taxation…. So I plan on getting done with ch2 by July 1 and focusing on ch3&4 till July 13 or so then go for final review of the course.

    Personally, I thought the MCQ was more than enough for my exam..I made sure to do those 2x…I didn't really hit that much on business law and I would've had a higher score if I did. The NINJA notes/audio and blitz were awesome and helped a lot for tax. I didn't do any of the SIMS, but I'd be familiar with the research.

    My biggest worry has been the lack of questions in R1 and R2. Besides that, I feel pretty prepared. I'm in review mode right now. Just need to get through R7 and R8 MCQ a second time, then I'll take my first Final Exam on Wednesday.

    Thanks guys.

    I feel like my confident is ruining my study habits. During FAR preparation I was dead worried. Now, I am not worried at all. I actually have been delaying studying and partying most of the time. I need discipline (aka turn off all social media sites again).

    Hmm, well all I used was the Becker MCQ (I personally did do the optional ones because it was my first exam), and did zero sims..they give you enough to pass. People that do like 4,000 MCQ are crazy IMO-but if that's what it takes for them then ok. I would think if Becker thought it was necessary to do 4,000 MCQ then they'd assign it. I don't deal with taxes whatsoever and my last tax class was 9 years ago lol I also did final exam one MCQ and it was much easier than the HW. I saw a few verbatim from the practice exam on my exam.

    @Tscape I actually skipped R8 lol, I would've picked up a few points if I didn't.

    Thanks!

    I also did optional MCQ for REG. I felt like it's not too much which is the case with FAR (with FAR, optional MCQ was just too much).
