I am about to start studying for REG and I realized that I have the Becker 2013 book. I can obviously order a new one but I wondered if anyone else used the 2013 book and then listened to the 2014 lecture or if I should just go ahead and purchase the new book? Thanks for the input in advance!!!

@cpaorbust – make sure you have the 2014 book. So many things changed between 2013 and 2014 and they are not all in the lectures.

If you purchased through Becker, they can send you a PDF with all the updates. In reality, however, the updates are mostly for 2014 actual $ amounts (for deductions and such) which are rarely tested. I just watched the lectures and crossed out the old numbers as I went through and added the new ones.

FAR - 85 (Becker, Ninja MCQs, Audio and Blitz)
BEC - Last one! Waiting on score release 11/24!

I was in the same boat as I just took Reg last week.. I ended up buying the new book for $15 from becker. However, I wouldn't sweat it really. By the time I got the book from them, I was already half done and realized that actually knowing the tax amounts that are adjusted each year is no where as important as understanding the concepts and how items are calculated! If it helps you, follow along with the lectures and just make adjustments in the book where there are any differences.
