    Becker Question –

Is it just me or was the 2nd REG final exam ridiculously hard? I’m taking the exam tomorrow and I took the 1st final exam yesterday and passed (but only with somewhere between a 77-79) and today I took the 2nd one and made a low 60 on it. Not only did I think the SIMs were super hard but I struggled with the multiple choice some too. Anybody feel the same way?

By the way, this is my first post even though I’ve been reading this forum since I began the exam. It’s nice to have people who are in the same boat as me.

The Becker Final Exams are always hard. I just think that I would rather be exposed to the information now than on the exam! I am taking REG on Friday. On the first exam, I scored 79, 95, 83 on the MC and, on the second exam, I scored 87,87,75.

Does anyone who has taken the exam have any insight about how they scored?

I gotta say is that is incredible! I'm not surprised you guys are doing so well on the Becker Exam after scoring in the 90s haha.I'm taking REG for the first time on Friday too and I scored like 65,83,62 on the first exam and 58,75,62 on the second exam.

Hopefully, I'll be able to bump up my scores to get a 75 in the real exam on Friday now that I've analyzed my mistakes.

Yeah I prepped with Becker as well. I scored a 73ish on the first final exam and a 78ish on the second one (after a couple days of additional studying). I ended up getting an 85. From speaking with people and reading threads on here, it's rare that your actual score on the REG section will be lower than the Becker final exam scores. But how much your actual REG score will exceed the Becker exam scores varies from person to person. My brother got consistently 10-15 points higher on the actual exam than he did on Becker's final exams. And I'm sure there are people on here who scored 15-20 points higher as well. The only safe assumption I am making is that if I take the Becker final exams under actual test conditions (no notes, etc.) that I will at least do that well on the actual exam. Plus, REG appears to be Becker's weakest section as far as preparation materials.

So, I thought I should update this thread. After doing horrible on the second final exam, I was encouraged by everybody's responses about it and went into Prometric ready to go. And it was awful.

I felt pretty good on most of the multiple choice (one on each testlet that I had no idea about and then a handful on each that I had narrowed it down to two or so). Then I got to the simulations. Although none of the subjects or concepts were difficult, I just wasn't super confident about any of it. There was more than one SIM that had a lot of different variables going into each question and I knew there was no way I could have guessed correctly. Also, on my last sim, I couldn't decide between two approaches for half the questions and I ended up changing my answers from one to the other (when I got home afterwards, I checked my answer and I had been right the first time).

I was positive I failed. I was worried about both FAR and AUD but I'd never felt this worried before. I told all my friends and family to be prepared for a 60 or 70 and I prayed for a 75. But, amazingly enough, when I checked my score on Friday afternoon (I didn't have the guts to check it before then), I found I'd made a 83.

So, the point of the story: miracles do happen! And just because you failed one or both of the Becker final exams does not mean you will fail the exam. Be confident and do your best!

The funny thing that I've noticed from all my friends taking Becker Final exams is that even if you fail them and get in the 60's, you are still very likely to pass. All of my friends have essentially failed the Becker exams or had just gotten a 75, and have passed all the sections they've taken so far! Same thing goes for the FAR exam. We'll see what's to come.

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED
