Problems with Wiley Multiple Choice Questions After Doing Becker

I am a little nervous after loading up my 2011 Wiley test bank for FAR. I was feeling really confident for FAR after getting a good grasp of Becker’s multiple choice questions. So I decided to begin overkill and started to do WIley multiple choice questions.

An hour later I am all flustered with anxiety because I was getting less than half right. I have 9 days to finish my FAR studying and now I am nervous that Wiley and Becker problems are so foreign from each other. Any recommendations or insights from people who used both programs? I think I am going to spend the rest of my nine days on the Wiley test bank.

I also am concerned that I am missing the analytical skills to figure out new problems that I have not seen:(

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Are the questions you missed on the topic which you covered with Becker? Seems like Wiley covers more topics and you might miss the questions because you didn't read the Wiley book?? Just guessing tho.

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

    Jeff,

If I fail FAR I will probably get Wiley FAR from you. I don't think the software year is my problem. I am having reading comprehension problems and getting stuck on new terminology and the different ways that the questions are formatted. I am very knowledgeable about the different topics in the Becker book but just can't deliver on the multiple choice questions.

Gotcha. That software was made in 2010 (if it's the 2011 edition) and so were the questions.

At least download the free ninja notes for FAR if you haven't.

I think I need to come up with a more structured way I approach questions. I don't write much down and come to think of it I probably need to read the question a few times before answering. I wish I titled this topic “multiple choice question strategies” but I am watching the new season of Dexter and having a whiskey and coke…

Study Monk, despite the fact that you ignored my previous post, let me help you with your question – yes, reading the question more than once and writing things down helps.

Dexter and whiskey a week before the exam?? Want a bet you gonna end up rescheduling?

P.S. l love Dexter. But I love House more.

    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)

Tough Kitty there was some topics that Becker didn't seem to directly cover. Sorry I have also been kind of spacey tonight as well so I didn't mean to be rude. Can't reschedule I am on a strict time line from here on out. I have audit in February and I have to do 12 units of cpa excel college units by May 1st to meet my goal of passing all sections and having required experience by June 2014. If I don't pass FAR I might wait until I take AUD and REG because those are what my college units cover. I still have nine 8 hours days of studying so there is room for Dexter. I was having anxiety issues so I am taking night off.

I had the same experience from Becker –> WTB.

I think a big part was the fact that Becker likes to recycle their questions found in (HW, Progress tests, Lectures, etc.)

I began to subconsciously memorize the questions and answers.

I wouldn't be too discouraged about WTB scores.. but really focus on the big topics and try to find a pattern in the questions you are getting wrong. From my experience, WTB questions are pretty similar to the “hard” testlets in actual exams.
