FAR – 3 months. Oct-Dec. Oct was quarter-end (super busy) and I had 2 weeks off in December.

REG – 2 months. Feb – Early April. This was my last exam, so I spent more time than usual cramming. I don't recall being very social during this time frame. It was all about knocking out the last exam. Glad to have my life back.

    @ Club300

Thank you very much and congrats! I am a full time CPA preparer until late July (when I join full time audit big 4). So, do you think 45 days is enough for reg? I plan on dedicating at least 6 hours daily. I also plan to be done with business law and ethics (ch 5,6,7&8) in12 days leaving almost a month for ch 1,2,3,&4 which deals with taxes (I love taxes!!!!). Please advise because I might wanna move my exam to an earlier date like Jul 15 or 20.

I spent roughly 5 weeks on REG studying full time with the exception of one week in the beginning when I was finishing up my last semester of school, but I won't know how effective that was until Tuesday when I get my score. I took REG on 5/29.

    My schedule was:

Monday – Watch one chapter lecture/review material

Tuesday – Do that chapter's homework

Wednesday – Watch one chapter lecture/review/do homework

    Thursday – Do homework

    Friday – Watch lecture/review/do homework

    Saturday – Do homework

    Sunday – off

By do homework, I basically mean doing MCQ's until I knew why I was getting them right. Looking back on it, I would've spent much more time knowing the AL inside and out because that might have helped me on the exam's SIMS, which were insane compared to Becker's. Each day was anywhere from 4-8 hours of studying but I think I averaged around 6 hours/day during the week and less on Saturdays.

Eventually I got a little behind but in the end that left me a week and a half for review instead of two weeks.

What was your schedule like for FAR? I'm still working on the CPA full time schedule and I just started working on FAR this past Monday. I'm wondering what I can change to make myself more effective and efficient. I'm basically doing the same thing, giving myself 6 weeks, which includes a week to review.

    AUD - 78
    REG - 76
    FAR - 82
    BEC - 80

I think with FAR and REG you have to approach it as two chapters per week and keep doing progress tests along the way. I feel like trying to remember all the stuff from eight-ten weeks ago is a task. BEC and AUD are only 6 for Becker. For BEC I did 1, 2, 2, 1+Review with an additional 1.5 week of review. I'll do the same for AUD.

    FAR - 90 ✔
    BEC - 86 ✔
    REG - 82 ✔
    AUD - 92 ✔
    ETHICS - Passed

I primarily used Becker for FAR. I started at the beginning of July and took the exam at the end of August. I was studying 6+ hours a day every day. I wasn't working at the time.

For REG I started studying early February (right after BEC) and took the exam mid April. I was working at this point and was spending 2 to 3 hours a night on weekdays and 6 hours a day on weekends. I supplemented REG with NINJA and that helped me out a lot.

    That was my timeline.

Studied for FAR from August through September (mostly September, as I had just started a new job in late July and was working a lot of hours in August to get up to speed). Took the exam Oct. 4. On a typical weekday, I probably studied for an hour or two, plus listening to lectures and NINJA Audio during my commute. On weekends, probably 3 hours of study each day, plus listening to audio while working out. In the final two weeks of review, I hit it much harder … probably 6 to 8 hours a day, every day, including work days, but at that point, it was mostly just practicing MCQs, so not as “intense” as studying material and working homework problems the first time through.

Studied for REG from October through December. I was originally scheduled to take the exam right after Thanksgiving, but I wasn't as prepared as I needed to be, so I put it off until Jan. 3 and studied through the holidays. Basically the same situation as FAR … fairly average to slightly below average hours until final review, when I kicked it into high gear.

I was a full timer too and REG took me 4 weeks and FAR 4 1/2. If you're committed everyday its totally doable. I felt like looking at that information any more and I would have started to lose it. Don't study for too long, that's my only real advice.

    B- TBD (May 2015)
    A- 87 (April 2015)
    R- 87 (May 2015)
    F- 79 (April 2015)

Guys, you are all awesome! Thank you very much! I plan on finishing up ch.5 on REG today and starting ch.6 on Saturday. I think I will take REG on July 15 because I want to take BEC in August and get it over with.
