I had about 2 hours remaining when I had completed this practice exam.

I have spent 105+ hours on AUD…….I dont know what else to study and I have got less than one week but feel barely prepared.

Your scores look pretty good. I have found that Becker's final exams are more difficult than the real thing. I have not scored higher than mid 60's on any of the Becker Final Exams. After I took the practice final exams, I printed all the questions that I missed for review and to see if there was a trend toward a weak area. I know printed can be tedious but it helped me. Did you do the communications tab during the Final exam, I know some people skip it. I feel it is important to practice writing the memos since they are worth 10% of your grade. Time is usually not an issue with AUD so make sure you take your time and review the multiple choice questions and you can also use the research tab to answer simulation questions and write the memo although this can be very time consuming. I think if you put in that much time, you should be okay. Good Luck on your exam.

Lee_IN, you give me hope. I'm not sure what the deal is but I just don't seem to click with this audit stuff. Seems like my brain takes a different direction than what the question is asking and I'm off in the boonies (i.e. wrong choice). I just finished the first testlet of the first final exam in Becker and I got 66%. I really hope it will be enough to get me through because I don't want to see this stuff again. I bet even doing an actual audit is not as painful as theorizing about it.

Scores like that mean you'll probably pass no problem..I wouldn't worry, I got low 60's on my Audit final exam and passed with a 78

That's been my experience – 60's on the Becker materials, and passing on the exam. As you can tell, not by much, but passing is passing! 300 club, here I come!

I agree with everyone's assessment so far. Becker puts harder questions on their practice exams. I think I got around 50%'s on the second practice exam and ended up passing AUD with an 81

I too did much better on the exam than I did on the Becker practice ones (94 actual….72-78 Becker Practice).

Your breakdown actually looks pretty solid. Re-read the material that covers all the items in Sim 1 Documentation Tab and Sim 2 Inventory Tab since those seem to be the two you were weakest on. Personally, that little chart dealing with inventory tracing/vouching gave me fits and re-watching that part of the lecture 3-ish times helped me. Giving it extra attention helped with at least a point or two on my exam.

edit: also, look at the risk Sim again. The piss-poor way they word those questions makes it hard. It is a huge area though so a little extra time on it will pay dividends.

Lee_IN …thanks for answering. I do work on the communication tabs each time. not only does it help condition you to write a detailed answer, but you might still pick up a few pointers on the material when comparing your answer to the suggested answer. Thank you again

Dale: Thanks for detailed analysis. The documentation one that I fudged up was strictly about tickmarks. Becker spent 12 seconds and a 1/2 a page in their books about it. I was so mad that it was a whole tab but I do wonder how much of it is tested on the actual exam usually. And i agree with you on the risk sim and can apply what you said about that to the inventory tab…i.e. the extremely crappy sub 1st grade level that some of those sims were worded make it incredibly difficulty to comprehend what they were actually asking. thank you for the feedback

Its amazing tho, ive read from others that did well on the actual Aud but had no grasp of the material…this is how I feel despite my grade on the practice final. We'll see what happens on Jan 12, 6 days…ahhhh

Yaeger didn't cover tick marks at all, but in Jeff's book he says to make sure to know it. I guess I better google it.

The tickmarks apply to different things dependent on the question. True some are generic and can be applied universally, but upon googling them i couldnt find any extensive info that made me secure in my answers…any suggestions

if i remember correctly (took audit about a year ago) questions with tickmark had a tickmark legend. so it doesnt matter what the tickmark looks like – the key is to use the legend and see what each tickmark means. As an example – a tickmark used to show that you recalculated depreciation can be a checkmark, an italicized R, really anthing. The key to a correct workpaper is that the tickmark legend identifies all those used.

I just did the second Becker Final for AUD and scored slightly better in the MC and a little worse on the Sims…The sims did mark some answers that I clearly had correct as incorrect, Im assuming this is a software issue. Its weird my weighted score on both exams is ~80 and I still feel like I know absolutely nothing. Can someone please “attest” to this feeling as being normal. Sorry for the lame joke, but with 5 days til this test I am getting borderline crazy.

ILoveCPA, I guess I can “attest.” I just finished the 2nd exam in Becker too and found the same issue with marking some correct answers as incorrect. Was it on the Ratios tab? My scores for both exams are more like 77-78, did really good on the second sim of the 2nd exam, surprisingly. I say that because, like you, I am not at all confident that I have this thing down. I seem to scramble my way to correct choices. This is not how I'd like it to be, but, good or bad, I'm leaving for the exam in about an hour and I am so ready to be done! I'm not sure I could take another 5 days! lol Good luck to you.
