    My Becker has just expired and I am debating on whether re-purchasing the lectures and homework problems or just try and take the sections with just the books. I have been through all the material for REG and BEC, have just not passed yet. Should I only buy the Becker for FAR and AUD since I have not been through the questions yet to try and save some money, or should I just buy all four parts and start over? Not sure what to do.

    Not to sound mean, but if you didn't pass REG and BEC with the lectures and homework problems why would you think you would pass with just the books? I know for a fact I would be lost without the lectures and hw problems. My suggestion would be to buy the Wiley test banks at the least. You need something to supplement the material in the becker books.

    You definitely don't need the lectures to pass but certainly have to get the MCQs!

    FAR 5/14 88 PASSED!
    REG 7/13 74 :((((((((....! I cant believe it!!!! I studied so hard...
    REG retake 11/29 -> 89!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BEC 10/11/12 -> 84!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    AUD 10/25/12 -> 95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm DONE! OMG 8 months of hard work.

    I SHALL PASS. BECAUSE IT'S ME, SO EVERYTHING WILL BE OK!

    I have a friend who was in the same situation as you… and somehow she was very diligent and figured out a way to pass using only the books (well, I mean thats how they used to do it back in the day before software & DVDs right?). She had 2010 books and was able to use them to pass for 2012.

    Will it work for everyone? Doubt it. And quite frankly, she is the ONLY person I know of as of recently who was able to pass all 4 parts doing it this way. There is so much more material to study now compared to the way they used to test, which is why I think a lot of people offer lectures, book, online testbanks, etc. etc.

    At the minimum I would recommend doing what another poster states above, purchase an online software/testbank like Wiley. The cost is minimal considering it may increase your odds of passing!

    ----------
    AUD - 74, 77! (1/2016)
    BEC - 80! (5/2016)
    REG - tbd (8/2016)
    FAR - tbd

    Study materials: NINJA MCQ/Audio/Notes

    Word of advice bro – repurchase the Becker software in order to get access to the MCQs. If there is anything that's certain, you can't cut corners with the CPA exam. Unless, that is, you're an accounting genius…maybe.

    AUD - 64, 75
    BEC - 67, 75
    REG - 33, 58, 76
    FAR - 41, 73, 84
    DONE.

    Tip: If you don't feel like you're studying hard, you'll probably fail. Study harder.

    Buy GLEIM with their test back, I think it's about $80 a section for each book and MCQ software – sure as hell beats forking over all that coin for Becker.

    FAR - PASSED 11/2009 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    REG - PASSED 1/2011 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    AUD - PASSED 5/2011
    BEC - PASSED 11/2011
    ETHICS - PASSED 12/2012
