So I heard mixed results about Becker live courses. Some say the professors play the same videos you can see in self-study. Others I know who swear by them say the professors told them good test-taking strategies and even broke the exam non-disclosure rules.

In my area (or more specifically) Hotel Woodbridge in Iselin, FAR and REG are coming up soon. I want to know if they’re any good before I spend my hard-earned money and more importantly, time.

Don't know about the “professors” in your area but I started Becker using the live version and only went to one class. Once I realized all they were going to do was press play on the videos I did it on my own. I thought live was a joke.

@jlee1086 – I took the classes in 2012 at the Woodbridge Hilton and did not like them one bit. I also ended up failing all my exams at the time. I think self study worked best for me, especially because all the instructers were doing was reading and highlighting everything in the book. Times may have changed, but I prefer Gearty and Olinto any day opposed to the live lectures.

I went to one of the classes at the same Hilton, never went back. I just couldn't see it working for me, but everyone learns differently.

A friend of mine told me you can try live classes before you register. For those of you who went to one and never came back, is that true?
