Hi im new here and im from Puerto Rico …Im starting the Becker live reviews on August and i dont know how should I begin . Should i take all 4 parts of the review from august to october , study, and then start the exams on January 2013 ……or should i only concentrate on only 2 parts of the review ,study and take the exams on january and when im done passing i take the other 2 parts of the review …. I just graduated from college and I will only be dedicating my time to studying for the CPA.

Hello there fellow Puerto Rican. I’m also new to this board, I just graduated this summer and I will also begin my journey through the wonderful world of the CPA exam in August. I will also be using Becker to study but I decided not to attend live classes and will be doing the self-study version of the review instead.

Anyway, good luck on your studies. I hope some of the more experienced members of this board can give us some good advice and answer some of our questions.

You should try at all costs to take each one before you start studying for the next. It would be almost impossible to study for four at once, and you need to keep the stuff fresh in your mind, so taking a class in August won't help you much if you don't start studying in January. I use Becker self-study and love it. It allows you to go at your own pace (even if that pace is really fast!) and you can clear your head before you move on to the next one. If you are only studying, you should be able to take a fast-pass class for one of the sections, review for a week or so, then go again. I know a few people who have done all of them in one window (nuts, but more power to them). Good luck, but don't make it harder than it is. Do them one by one.
