    Becker Question –

When watching the videos first, should I be taking furious notes while watching the videos? It seems like the first hour lecture took me closer to 2-3 hours to get through with all the notes I was taking. Am I doing the correct thing or am I being inefficient? I’d hate to get behind schedule already.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

When I watch Becker videos, the only notes I take are the ones that Pete/Tim say too. I don't write my own notes until I go back through and read the chapter and then later when doing MCQs.

I wouldn't say that your way is inefficient; everyone has a different learning style. You just have to figure out what works for you.

My study habits are a little different from everyone else's. I read the book first and then watch the lectures (because I just graduated from college and we were expected to read the chapter before coming to class, that has become my preferred method of learning). That way, I already understand the majority of the lecture before Tim/Pete teaches it. Also, I then know what material they mention that is not specifically written in the book that I should write down. Also x2, whatever Olinto reads (even if he doesn't underline it), I still highlight. I feel like a lot of what Tim and Pete say is just reading from the textbook with some additional explanations sometimes thrown in. Like CPAMike said, you should do whatever works for you, but personally, I'm not sure how much additional information there could be in the lectures that aren't in the notes that would cause you to spend an extra hour or two writing down information. If what you're doing works for you and you have the time, keep doing what you're doing! Good luck studying!

I take notes after each page they go over (I just pause the vid, I get frustrated trying to write while they talk). I write down the notes they make. After, I read the chapter and if I feel like they left out something I do not get I will take notes on it.

Everyone is different but the most important notes, IMO, are the ones you take while doing the multiple choice. The first time I do them, I write down why or why not I got the question right and the supporting info they give for it. This takes a long time, but now I am in the review phase and you will be surprised how much sticks! Your hand will hate you for the amount of writing but taking the time to write things out certainly helps me and maybe it will help you!
