Becker Question –

Hey guys, I did the REG Review exam available at the end of the entire course and my scores are:

Testlet 1: 62%

Testlet 2: 76%

Testlet 3: 58%

Testlet 3 was hard. It had questions which focused on points you would overlook or miss in your reading.

Things like Gift taxation, where a couple elects for a gift-split, then what is the amount of taxable gift amount.

I know I have to focus on these little points. So I have two questions:

1. From your experience, how prepared am I for the exam based on the scores?

2. How IN THE WORLD do you prepare yourself for teeny-meeny facts that don’t seem like much when you read it but make a whole difference in the questions on the exam?

I’m just disappointed I worked so hard for the exam but scored a useless 58% on Testlet 3.

Well when I did that exam I got a 66 on each of the 3 testlets haha. I never pass those darn practice exams anyway. You'll be fine, you're more prepared than you think you are! 🙂

I've found that the Becker practice tests are harder than the real thing. Let me caution you not to use that as an excuse to say you're ready. The trouble with REG is you can never be fully prepared for all the possibilities they are going to throw at you. The important part is to be well prepared on the main topics and then use your professional judgement to work through any ‘curveballs' they throw at you. The SIMS are especially hard to prepare for but if you study the core concepts diligently you should be alright.

Well I got 62, 79, 71 on the first exam, and 58, 71, 67. I had 3 weeks after that to continue reviewing and studying. I took the exams a few days before my actual and scored in the 90's…

When I took the exam I was going crazy. I won't have my score until the beg. of next month, but I did find myself guessing on ALOT of stuff that Becker spent a very, VERY small amount talking about. I also had 2 SIM's on this topic. I was ready to throw my computer out the door. I really guessed on a lot. I thought I was ready, but it just goes to show you even if you score well on the Becker exams, it doesn't mean anything. The test hits different points.

You need to be ready for everything. Even though I had okay scores for the practice exams, im expecting a 50 if im lucky. 🙁
