Hi all, I just received my score for FAR and got a 74 and my Backer self-study expired.. 🙁 Planning on taking the exam in January which gives me more than a month to prepare. How should I approach this exam and what should I use to study? Should I renew my Becker material or should I go with Wiley Test Bank. I want to prepare myself because I really need to pass this exam in January. What do you guys suggest?

I took my retake of FAR in October after my Becker review expired and I failed FAR in August. I purchased NINJA notes, audio and WTB and used them in conjunction with the notes I took from my initial Becker Review and Becker Flash cards. Came back a month later with an 82.

AUD - 90 Pass
REG - 70,61,81 Pass DONE DONE DOOOOONNEEE!!!!!!!!
BEC - 79 - Pass
FAR - 70,82 - Pass

I agree with So1913,

Use what you have, make a combination of ninja notes, audio and blitz if you have to, and go for it. It's really not about spending more money on materials but utilizing all the materials you have. Paying for an extension is not going to give you new materials, just a longer time to use them. Again, buckle down and use what you have…..spend that extra money on a Christmas present.

74s (and in my case 73s!) should be illegal!

70-74 should be reported as “Almost” lol

And I agree, Ninja notes + WTB will probably get you over the hump. Best of luck, oh and I think its audacious that a review course that costs so much expires! I get they dont want it available forever for people to pass around, but c'mon, let people submit test scores for an extension or something lol

It has a lot of MCQs and SIMs and would provide you with a book to review/relearn from (or does Becker have an actual book that you still have after expiration?). If you have a bit more to spend on your review, WTB and NINJA supplements are good resources too. Just depends on if ease of studying or frugality are more important for you right now!

My first time taking FAR I got a 72, so I added the WTB and Ninja Notes – and I just found out that I increased my score by 10 points! So I highly recommend adding those!

As long as you submitted your Becker Homework before taking the FAR exam you should be elgible for the Becker promise which gives you the course for fee (processing fee not included of course, which blows). Also I find that almost all the becker questions were the spiin offs of these:

Simply google, Becker FAR released questions. Cheap and easy to find. They have them going way back.

You could try requesting an extension from Becker. I was sucessful in doing this. However, you will have to submit proof of a scheduled test date.
