Hi, I am trying to see if anyone knows of ways to get a discount on Becker CPA Review? I tried to use my school for a Becker discount but said they no longer have a contract so no discount there. Anyone have any other options?

    Thanks

Do you have a job yet? Becker has contracts with a lot of corporations. You can see the link below for a list of them:

They also have discounts with other societies that you can find a list of using the same link above. I know I am a member of my state's CPA society and they have a discount with Becker,

    CPA Review

    REG - 74, 81
    FAR - 75!
    BEC - 71, 82

I would look into Wiley CPAExcel…..I'm using it and like it. You can get the whole program for under $2,000. I would also supplement it with the Ninja Notes and the Ninja MCQ's. Another benefit….it never expires.

My 2 cents, don't get Becker. I drank the Becker Kool Aid and regret it, but then again some people have great experiences with Becker. I've had way better luck with Ninja products and just bought a Roger video lecture product and it's way more engaging than Becker. Once I got away from Becker I actually started passing sections!

If you use Ninja, you can get a competitor discount from Becker. If you already bought it, that can be a complicated process but if not, it should be easy. And there's no way for them to know you're double dipping.

    FAR 57 (11/2014), 64 (1/2015), 79 (7/2015)
    AUD 68 (2/2015), 79 (11/2015)
    REG 79 (1/2016)
    BEC 81 (4/2016)

@AccountantPinkHair which Roger video lecture program did you get? Did you buy it off eBay or smoother place? I am getting roger lectures from eBay in USB form. Do you think that the lectures only supplemented with Ninja book and notes will be good enough. Basically I'm want the lectures so that if I get stuck somewhere i can refer to the lectures.

Ask your employer to reimburse you. My firm didn't offer it, but I asked for it and they didn't even hesitate to do it. Sometimes you just gotta ask.

@kyle.brown I bought Roger CRAM for BEC. I posted a few days ago saying I was disappointed for the money I spent. The more I watch the more I like it. At first I was like WTF I PAID $200 FOR DANG VIDEOS?!?!? Calm down and give it a chance… I'm glad I did. I was really struggling with Econ but after watching Roger and working a few problems I think I might actually have a grasp on the topics or at least more comfortable with them.

@red07 I bought it off the Roger site with a Fresh Start Discount, which was totally easy to get. I would think so, but I've never purchased Ninja notes or book. I just pasted Audit with an 81 using only Ninja MCQ and my 2 year old Becker book for reference when necessary.

I agree with PinkHair. Becker is not all that and Im not sure why the big 4 have no problem paying for the courses. I wish I had not already paid for Becker with my own money, or I would seriously consider another course.

I know someone who paid for the Becker program and she hated it… I've ended up leading her to NINJA because she never passed using Becker. and she had gone to the live courses; I would definitely look at other options, but that's just my opinion. Good luck either way!

No doubt about one thing – Becker is way overpriced compared to all other programs on the market. Is it good? It depends on who you ask and what their learning style is. You're going to get a mixture of responses – some love it and encourage the purchase of it…and some hate it and discourage the purchase of it. I've polled this community and others on this very thing, so take it from me and don't waste your time reading through the tons of responses. It's going to be about 50% = love it and 50% = hate it. The truest piece of advice you'll find on this is it's more about you, your desire to want to be a CPA, and the effort (quantity and quality of study hours you put in) you go into it with than it is about which study course you decide to use.
