    Becker Question –

I’m preparing my last exam. I heard that I might need Wiley materials too. Is that true?

    AUDIT - 78 (8/18/2011)
    REG - 78 (11/30/2011)
    FAR - 87 (5/4/2012)
    BEC - 79 (8/15/2012) I'm done!

Becker is enough, although the Wiley Test Bank is very useful. I used Becker and the Test Bank together and I got a 90 on the actual exam. I would recommend heavily practicing B2 for 2012 version, B5 for 2011 version, and reading some supplemental information on the COSO stuff. Don't be afraid of doing and redoing the MCQ.

Thanks, is it true that you can pass it by MC alone?

    @BDO-Baby

What is Chapter 2 in Becker 2012? I have only 2011.

I passed with Becker and Becker Final Review only.

The written communications section is only 15%, so, technically, you can pass without them. However, you have to do very well on the MC.

The written communications are not too bad. They are not graded on whether or not the content is correct. They are graded on writing skills and your ability to stay on topic. So, as long as you have decent writing skills, you should be fine.

It is true that you can pass…but that would mean leaving the WC blank. You should be able to rack up a few points just for having the correct form, spelling your words correctly, and /s/Your name, etc. All of my WC had something I learned from Becker that I could write about–not word for word prepared me, but mentioned something about it that I could sneak into a paragraph.

Chapter 2 in Becker is the Variance analysis and in depth costing stuff. I think it is called Budgeting and Forecasting or some such. I think it was Chapter 5 in Becker 2011, but was moved for the 2012 update. It is worth your time to know that material very, very well. Then write notes on the IT chapter, read supplemental information for COSO, and draw graphs for EVERY single economics question. You can usually answer them by running your pencil along the graph. :o)

Note: these should be on top of your regular studying and should not be a rationale for skipping some sections or skimming through them. Anything could be tested.

B2 for Becker is mainly variances and I have to say IMO I think its one of Beckers weaker sections. Becker gives you full blown examples that can take upwards of 5-10 minutes to complete. I have heard that the actual questions are less extensive in nature. I understand that Becker is trying to teach the concept to us but its kind of crazy. I havent used Wiley but I if you can understand the Becker questions for BEC I think you should be set. They try and over prepare you. There are a limited number of questions (well not really limited but after you do them 5 times each you memorize them) so if you're looking for just more MCQs I think Wiley would help.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

    Audit 4/19/12 - 77
    BEC 5/31/12 - 75
    FAR 8/30/12

I think Becker is enough. Wiley online test bank is a good addition too. Seems to be a winning combination.

    B 2/12 87
    A 11/11 90
    R 8/11 86
    F 5/12 88
