Yes and no. Its generally good at what it covers, but there are some weaknesses. A lot of the ancillary material is covered on the exam so you need to know that. When I took it in April, just a few updates reflecting the tax legislation from the end of 2010 had been done so I had to keep double checking info w/ the IRS website. It doesn't do a good job with s-corps or property taxation. I don't know what updates have been issued for the 7/1 CSO changes.

Besides all this, the REG exam has some unique difficulties that I think would be tough for any review course to handle–questions that are ambiguously worded and/or on obscure tax topics.

I used Becker to study for reg. I would recommend it for the MCQs and lectures but the TBS the software provided helped naught. With my knowledge learned through the other sections though I was able to do pretty well on the TBS during the exam, however.

I do hear most review software doesn't really help with TBS though, it's not about the question itself it's about how well you know the material. The way I studied is I would watch the lecture once, do all the MCQ and mark all the answers I got wrong/got lucky on. I would rewatch/read the sections I tended to do bad in. Lather rinse repeat, repeat, repeat until my eyes bled and then once more.

With an 85 in reg on my first shot I'm satisfied with the program.

I failed twice with Becker. I do not blame Becker for this, the only one I blame is myself and my study habits. Round three for REG I'm using Becker, but bought the Wiley MCQs which I think will really help me because I started to memorize Becker's MCQs. I have a plan of attack this time and REG is going d.o.w.n.

I passed with Becker on my first try. I do have to admit there was a webinar that focused on two subjects that helped me better understand those two subjects. It is a webinar given by phil yaeger and it was part of club 75 when you joined.

I used Becker for Reg and I left Prometric thinking I had failed. During the exam I changed 3 answers to incorrect ones- I checked when I got home. So I was fairly certain I had failed but I passed with an 81! The lesson here is to go with your

first choice if you're uncertain.

I've also passed Audit 2x with Becker and am now using it to study FAR.

Using Becker, took REG on 07/01/11. On the weekdays I study as much as I sleep (5 hours), study all weekend, and have done this for 2.5 months just on this portion of the exam (single, no kids).

My first thought three questions into REG was, “I should have studied more.” Too much reading, not enough MCQs.

I felt that Becker is adequate enough to pass, but I would recommend that:

1. If the lecture specifically mentions something, know it COLD. Memorize if you have to.

2. If it's in the review book but not specifically mentioned in lecture or video, then at least be familiar; read it over 1-2 times.
