The first exam I tried was BEC at the beginning of the year. Using just Ninja stuff a some free multiple choice. I studied all in all around 20 hours and knew i wouldn’t pass but wanted to get my feet wet and get used to the exam. Ended up with a 70. Okay now i see how much i need to really study. I decided to take FAR as my first real exam.
I completed all of the Becker lectures, and about 55% of the overall questions. I think a little over a 1,000 per the software. Made some notecards and read over the notes and re wrote the notes once.
Studied all in all for about 3 or 4 weeks.
When i took the exam i thought i did okay on multiple choice and bombed all of the task based simulations except for the research and one other. I just didn’t feel confident at all.
I was pleasantly surprised to get an 82!
I read a lot of people saying do all 2,000 of the multiple choice over and over and do all the review exams and all that. Like i said i only did like 1000, once. Then no review exams or anything until I did the first 2 testlets of the final exam and had i think 52% on just those two testlets (client meeting cut me short). I did maybe 20% overall of the task based simulations, i just didn’t have the time.
Just wanted to share my experience.
Taking auditing in a couple of weeks so we will see how that goes.
