I have to choose between Becker and Wiley CPAExcel

About to embark on the exam. My employer gets Becker and Wiley CPAExcel at a discounted price and will reimburse me for the review course if I pass all 4 sections on my first try. Yikes. Talk about pressure.

Problem is, they have to buy all 4 sections of the review to get the discount. I was quoted at $1,500 for both courses. It would be reallllll nice to be reimbursed for that. So, which one? Is Becker really the best out there?

    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 83
    BEC - 77
    REG - 70, 78

Now what the hell do I do?

I have Wiley CPAExcel – Seems to be working for me. I like the way it is laid out with its “bite size” lessons. With my short attention span, this is great to keep me focused as well as build confidence.

    B - 80 (Aug 2012)
    A - 89 (Jan 2013)
    F - 77 (May 2013)
    R - 83 (Nov 2013)

I used Becker during my first attempt at the exam back in 2006. I did the live classes (DO NOT recommend them). This time around, I am using CPAExcel. I like the format of CPAExcel (the bite sized lessons), the fact that it never expires, and that you can access it anywhere you have an internet connection. But I feel like Becker gives you much more information that CPAExcel does.

PS- you can try CPAExcel for free for 14 days. Why not download it and check it out to see how you like it?

    F- 7/13- 84
    R- 10/13- 79
    A- 11/13- 99
    B- 1/14- 86

    Licensed in PA- 3/20/2014

This exam ALMOST defeated me back in 2006-2008, but I came back and WON!

I used Becker and $1,500 is a great deal. I'm not familiar with CPAExcel, but the cost is what keeps most people away from Becker (which is a non-issue for you since you are buying them through your employer).

The 18 month Becker expiration should not be an issue if your goal is to pass on the first attempt because all four sections of the cpa exam have to be passed within 18 months too. If you struggle with a section, the Ninja 10 point combo is a great supplement.
