    Becker Question –

…how long is it taking you guys to do the first round of studying for each chapter?

F2-F4 took me a good 2 weeks. This includes viewing the video lectures for each topic within a chapter, and then doing all the MCQ’s until I achieve 100% and trying to understand all the explanations. I admit sometimes I get frustrated or confused over the explanations so I just end up marking the right answer which I memorized, rather than from comprehension of the concept.

I’m studying about 4 hours a day, but I feel like it takes me much longer than what I should be doing.

How much time does it usually take for you guys to complete each chapter? How much extra time do you allott for final review/flashcards/writing notes?

About a chapter a week since I work full time. I study about 15 hours a week. But that is for audit and its a bit easier to me since I'm an auditor. I think other topics would require more hours per week to finish a chapter.

Just do multiple progress tests to hone in on the subjects you don't understand.

I have found that the lectures are a waste of time. They only reread the book, and tell you to highlight here, or underline there (do not add any useful information). To me, the most effective thing to do was to simply critically read, and take intense notes summarizing what you read. By doing this you are more engaged in the material, understand it, and then write it down which locks it in. Also, you save lots of time! This is just my opinion, but it has worked great for me!! good luck

But the lectures are important because they tell what is important. And they help you summarize all the info. I think the lectures are great, especially Peter Olinto.

I think everyone learns differently. I cannot read the book. When I first started I read chapter 1-5 and took extensive notes. I would go and try to just do the questions after the chapter and would get majority of it wrong! Until my brother told me that there were lectures ( I had no idea). The lectures saved my life I really started to grasp the concepts and scoring high on the HW.

I did the lectures twice for AUD and passed. I did the lectures twice for BEC and passed. Did FAR 3 times, hopefully I passed! Find out Nov 3rd. I LOVE the lectures, they explain stuff I never would have just figured out by myself. They are much more knowledgeable than myself and they truly help me so much through the lectures. I can listen back into my memory to some of the things that they have said when I am on the test too. LOVE THE LECTURES
