Finishing Becker FAR Practice Exams Quickly

I am taking FAR Saturday and it will be my first CPA exam. For those with some experience… did you finish the Becker final practice exams really quick? I finished the first in two hours of the allotted four and the second one even quicker. Granted I did not do the best on them, around 75 each time, the test will have more lengthy questions right? I probably could have slowed down and got a little better score, but there is no way the practice exam would take me 4 hours.

    Thanks for any input!

I took both Becker exams in about 2 hours for each. Not the same result for the real thing. There's distractions you're not used to and your mind is in a totally new setting. The real exam took me 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Yeah, I flew through the Becker exams as well. in the real thing, flag questions and circle back at the end of each testlet and allot some time to take a second look at those ones. Try to leave 1.5hours for the sims just in case you get something you are not familiar with and can look it up in the AL. overall its probably a good sign that you can work the questions quickly, it means you know how to attack the question from the start. good luck

I also finished the practice exams very quickly, and I agree with everyone else that the real exam will definitely take you longer. Despite what everyone says, I found my FAR exam to be harder than the Becker practice exams (although I got a better score on my actual exam). My recommendation is 45 minutes for each MCQ testlet, and an hour and 45 minutes for the sims (15 minutes for each). The first testlet definitely won't take you all 45 minutes, which is good, because you'll probably need some of that time for the later, harder (assuming you do well on the first one) MCQ testlets. Make sure you allocate time to review each question, as well. A minute and a half for each MCQ is more than enough time to go back and review each question after your first run through.
