I just did the first Becker mock exam on FAR. I submitted the test with 1 hour and 20 min left and scored a 81%. After the 15 min break, I still have 2 hours and 15min left for the exam. I am tripping out since I don’t know if I should change my time strategies. Also, it made question whether the Becker SIMS for the mock exam are representative for the real sims on the actual test. Any suggestions??? How long did it take you to finish the mock exam for FAR? What is your time strategy for the new FAR?

The actual sims are usually take a little longer and are more involved than becker (more documents to flip through, etc). With that said, I think your timing is still pretty good – I think having 2hr 15 min left for the last two sim testlets is pretty ideal spot to be time-wise.

According to Roger, the timing break down for FAR should be as follows:
Testlet 1 (33 MCQ) – 45 minutes
Testlet 2 (33 MCQ) – 45 minutes
Testlet 3 (2 TBS) – 30 minutes
Testlet 4 (3 TBS)- 60 minutes
Testlet 5 (3 TBS) – 60 minutes

@tarynn wang I got the same score on mock exam 1 and also finished with an hour to spare. I felt like the SIMS were easy. I scored even higher on mock exam 2 and also finished an hour early. I've been told that these mock exams are nothing like the real thing which is disheartening. I take the exam on July 3rd.

@Tarynn Wang , your timing seems good to me ,what percentage of calculations type MCQ were there and how many total MCQ were there? SIMs are not comparable.

I would say it was probably 90% calculation and I rushed through the MCQs. The total number of MCQ is 66.

@yungwolfie , you are in really good shape.Only change in new format is 80% calculations based MCQ and that needs speed besides concept.You wouldn't have time to think and solve , it has to be robot .since you have 1.20 Hours left that means your speed and concept both are in place.
Most likely than not you will pass.

I finished both Becker mock exams with an hour left and scored an 83 on both. This gave me a bit of confidence when I took the exam in May so I gave myself a longer to do each booklet. I regret doing this because the last few Sims took me a while to do. I recommend sticking with Becker's time recommendation.

By the way, my experience with the exam Sims was not that they were particularly crazy hard. A few just had information scattered through several documents while for others it was initially difficult to understand what they were requesting.
