    Hey guys.

I am sitting for FAR on Friday morning and just took the first Becker practice exam. My scores were as follows:

    Testlet 1: 60

    Testlet 2: 67

    Testlet 3: 76

    Testlet 3 (sims): Averaged 60.0%

Based on these scores, is there any chance I’ll pass FAR on Friday morning? My goal for the next few days is as follows: review missed questions, focus on problem areas, review flashcards, and work on as many MCQs as time permits.

I did rush the exam a bit and pretty sure I had 1hr 30min remaining. I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

    Thanks.

    @Mr.NiceWatch,

There's definitely a chance for you to pass. On REG, my first practice exam was about a 68 overall average and a week later I took the test and got a 90. The practice tests are notoriously more difficult than the real exam.

That being said, use these results as a learning opportunity. 1st, go through the MCQs, see what you missed, and study those areas specifically. 2nd, on your 2nd practice exam, try to do a little bit better job of time management. On FAR, I'd suggest using about 45-50 mins per MCQ testlet and about 1.5 hours for the SIMs.

My first FAR practice test results were similar to yours and I took the real FAR test a month ago and managed to pass. You can do it!

    REG (5/31/12) - 90
    FAR (7/12/12) - 85
    AUD (8/23/12) - 91
    BEC (10/13/12) - 85

    Haldius,

First, Congrats on passing two of the most intensive sections. Second, thanks for the tips and sharing your experience. I believe now I'll go into the exam much more confident knowing that I scored in the 60s on a more difficult practice exam. I will provide an update here in about two weeks, after I hopefully pass. Thanks.

I had the same 70 to 80% scores on my practice exams. Thing to keep in mind also is that the score is weighted, not a percent. You seem to have a good game plan to wrap up, and that stuff will be fresh in your mind going in. I had to keep from laughing out loud during the exam when one of the items I struggled with, but reviewed at the last minute showed up, and I remembered it!

You should be fine. I scored the following on my first Becker practice exam and I passed the actual exam with a 90.

    MC #1 – 70%

    MC #2 – 60%

    MC #3 – 67%

    Sims – 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 75%, and 100% on the research tab.

    FAR - 90
    AUD - 82
    REG - 93
    BEC - 80

I think I am all set to take the exam. Thanks for the input/experiences everyone! I did note something strange last night though. So I was reviewing the exam last night and I noticed that I got half a journal entry incorrect because it wasn't in the same order as the solutions. For example, my journal entry was debit cash, accum. depreciation, and new building while the solutions was debit new building, cash, and accum depreciation. Also, I missed a pension question because I put in a formula rather than the actual amount despite having the correct amount. Hope the actual exam isn't like this.

I scored similar on Becker 1:

    60

    67

    90

    100, 100, 100, 100, 62.5, 62.5, 100

If you share what you think of the test as opposed to the exams Becker provides, which as this forum has indicated tend to be much more difficult, that would be great.

    Good luck!
